CBJ “Everybody expects they’re going to be the champions"

Happened to hear finebaum at work on the computer today. Haven't tune in a while but needed something to listen to. Him and his cronies were blasting the vols saying we haven't done anything, there is NO reason to believe anything is different because we haven't proved anything, and that they are waiting for the big fail again. One guy called in to ask the question "what makes you believe (Butch) is a good coach?" Paul's answer ... "that's a good question, I don't know."

At home go for the win, on the road go for the tie (over time these days).

You go for two regardless. Get it and you get the opportunity to tie....don't get it you lose by 2 rather than 1. By just kicking the extra point, Butch didn't give us the opportunity to tie.

Wait, that kid that did this to Tuttle didn't graduate? If that's the case if I was him I would act like I had the flu the weekend they play us.

Kublanow did NOT graduate. He has been selected as a first team preseason All SEC player at the center position for 2016. Good luck with that you slimey piece of %$#@ing xxxx and those similar slimey pieces of xxxx that voted for you.

I do not ever want to see us go for a FG from the 1 again unless it is to win the game in the last min. or time about to expire in the first half!!

You can say that but if we go for it and give the ball up on downs and then eventually lose the game by 3 or less, will you then complain because we didn't kick the field goal?

you said that exactly backwards...

on the road, ALWAYS go for the win

at home, play for overtime, you have the crowd to back you up

in all honesty, I personally would go for the win both times.

You have every right to disagree, and I respect your opinion, but the fact is, players never have and never will be held responsible for wins or losses at the end of the day / year. Head coaches who make millions of dollars always have been and always will be. This team's success or failure will fall squarely on CBJ's shoulders as it should.

Yeah? The point is not that some fans will be calling for coach's job if another loss to FL, but that the players are vocally taking accountability, and i know you're totally familiar with this already, but: "Jones told the story of senior linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin addressing the team in the spring. He showed video clips of plays he could have made to help find those 25 points. Then he showed clips of teammates – including fellow seniors Cam Sutton and Josh Dobbs – who could have made plays to help find those 25 points."

Another loss to FL, and I'd venture to guess you will see the players taking immed responsibility this year (and goodness, I expect us to win, but otherwise).

One thing I like about this team is their "humbleness." If that's even a word. They are in the spotlight now and big expectations have been set. A lot of teams brag (like Tabor) but our players know they haven't earned anything and they are putting in the work. They know they have the talent and tools to be in the CFP this year, and I think low key, they are drooling over it.

Like it much better than the way Fulmer handled (or didn't) high expectations.

What the ...

13-0 undefeated national champions. Do you realize how difficult it is to do that from the SEC and in a state with lower talent in-state than all your rivals? Consider for example, that Florida, with all those great teams, for 20 years (1990-2009), under two HoF coaches considered tops in their season, never accomplished that. :ermm: Just saying.

I'm with ya there. Stoked that our players have taken the high road and shaken all that off. Shows serious discipline and focus IMO. Not sure if they have enough sense, but UF players should be very afraid of that IMO. I'm sure their older staff are a little worried about that on a personal level.

Handled like this?

Butch had better be "in the hunt and in the mix" for 15 games for exactly this. Team 120. This year.

Edit: Well-played livefaith. Well-played.

Florida, Alabama, Texas A&M and Georgia stand in Tennessee's way to the Championship, it won't come easy, but nothing good ever does, does it?

I don't care if we go for 1, go to for 2, kick a field goal on the first play of the game as long as at the end of the game, we have 1 more point than the other team!

So you give the ball up on their 1/2 yard line and you end up losing by 3 or less? You go find a Bob Shoop and make him your Defensive Coordinator ASAP. The answer to your question? NEVER

The best players always want to compete against the very best players, it's in their very makeup or DNA.....

Team 120 may not win every game, but they should be able to compete and be in every game and finish the season a very good football team
