What is the reason that we can land some blue chippers? It blows that every year we seem to swing and miss on high end guys. Is it Willie or what…

That’s what I was thinking too. Maybe poster was alluding to those we missed out on?

Edit- corner and safety help have been needs for a few yrs, yet little depth. One or two hit the portal but I think OP is correct in that we’ve missed on a few recruits- including portal. Hood was a good edition.

Elite corners shut down WRS and allow the d line time to create havoc. Should be pulling 1 every year and should have 5 to 6 by now on the roster.
Sure. But there are about 130 teams who all want a shut-down corner, or MORE than one. And some kids want to stay close to home, or go where money highest. Meanwhile, not an exact science, some guys like Boo Carter were full of potential, but just didn't pan out. Then there's injuries. Lastly, if one is one of the best shut-down corners, why not go on to The League asap? But, sure, keep thinking most teams should have 5 or 6 shut-down corners on their roster at any given time. 🤔

I agree with OP.

I think we have lacked elite DB talent for quite awhile. I'm not saying we haven't had any outstanding DBs during Heupel's regime but we just haven't had enough overall star power in the secondary. Excluding this year, our DL has been carrying the D.

I would like to see Heupel go after an elite DB recruiter as I'm impartial to Martinez. Not a huge fan but he has developed some underrated players.

We need some big uglies upfront...A lot of them. We lose one on every extra point try this year.
I was looking for the blue font. But just in case. Heupel does that on purpose. You ever notice none of them are starters or even 2nd string. Just trying to get a couple more minutes of rest for our defense.

Ty Redmond is gonna be a 3 year starter here and likely to be a great draft prospect if he keeps at it. He was thrown to the wolves but he easily surpassed expectations.
Time will tell. We will see how he plays next yr.

I’m Not a Martinez fan. I don’t like how he coaches the DB to watch the receiver’s eyes instead of DB turning his head to play the ball. Plus, I don’t like the cushion we give receivers.

Just my $.02.

Boo Carter
Judy lawly
Caleb Beasley
Jermod McCoy
Jordan Matthews
Turrentine

All 4 stars within the last 3-4 years

Why’d you ask a question that is so easy to look up and then get sarcastic with someone who responded
Matthews gone barely seen the field. Turrentine terrible only reason he played was being an upperclassman. Took terrible angle couldn’t tackle..boo yeah that worked didn’t it. McCoy one and done lawley was solid but another one and done hardly elite or a blue chippers prospect out of high school..
