Cautiously Optimistic

One of the things that should help the O-line are backs and plays that hit the hole quicker. O lineman can be more aggressive at the point of attack and not have to sustain their blocks as long. This should help cover up some deficiencies. If we can impose our will a bit in the running game it will open up the passing game as more defenders will have to commit to the run...this should help even our QB's look better....

Well, it is a plan,,, and I am hopeful it plays out the way you have schemed it.

we should have an 7:1 ratio of run vs pass until the qb's can prove that their first pass won't be picked off. we have the running game to do that too.........

IO don't know about that unless these guys are that much better than Foster. Our running was slightly better than our passing last year.

QB won't be an issue at all. One of these guys will be a stud and my money is on either Coleman or Crompton. Kiffin seems to really think highly of Crompton. Personally, from what I have seen, the kid has a lot of heart and good physical tools. If he finally gets it, then watch out. Our offense is loaded with talent. O-line is a concern, but the coaching they will receive will be much better than last year. I fully expect us to upset some big teams next year and field a high scoring offense led by our ground game with a shut down defense.

This team, more than anything, is becoming cohesive. Everything they're doing lives and breathes an "as one" philosophy. That's really the main thing that was missing from last season, IMO.

Also, if our offense was only SLIGHTLY better last year, we at least go to a bowl game.

I think Clawson's problem wasn't his scheme as much as it was the plays he would call.

I mean, seriously...42 passes against UCLA when every time we ran the ball, we'd gain 9 yards???

Maybe his scheme was exciting and productive, but his play-calling was just TERRIBLE.

clawson cost us that game with his play calling and a few others with an anemic offense

I think we are all optimistic. I don't think anyone expects a perfect season, but we've seen so much progress in a VERY short amount of time in the recruiting, how could we not get excited. I won't lie I stood in the stands and cried as they carried Phil off the field when we beat Kentucky, however I knew we needed a change. We all feel the excitement buzzing around and I believe we will be a powerhouse again in 2 to 3 years. Don't get me wrong, I'll gladly take a winning season coming up though!
