i imagine it might take years for infrastructure spending to actually have a meaningful effect on construction equipment sales. it's not as though these construction companies don't already own lots of cat equipment in the first place.

I would imagine they make much more of their money selling parts for their pieces of equipment. From experience I know those diesel engines will run forever but the machines are put through hell and always need replacement parts.
