Cat Fans Upset About Jackson Playing

I think Kentucky has a nice team. They have some pretty good players. some good coaches. Its going to be a tough game! but, UGA looked like the 08 tennessee team last wk .. all those interceptions, terrible penalties.. fumbles at the one yard line.. if we just keep from beating ourselves . We will win this one by 7-10

Come on, admit it. you would have given anything for it to have been the Vols.

True, because winning our game against them in '07 would have made us SEC champions.

...but then again, that would mean the Pumpkin would still be in Knoxville.

If those are the stipulations then I'm absolutely certain that UT hasn't had a significant home game since '05...

The closest was a game against Cal in '06, but they went on to have a better season than you so that automatically disqualifies that game based on your parameters...
And when the Cats get their asses kicked Saturday it won't be considered a significant win by the Volunteers.

Going for the silver...

Damn man, that's the best canine photo I have EVER seen. He's GORGEOUS!!! What a friggin' shot. GO VOLS!!!:rock::rock:

Just visited the Cat site and I don't blame them one bit for being upset. There are some valid comments that have been made on that board and I am hearing much the same thing from the majority of the Vol fans that I talk to.

This whole thing has deflated me to the point I hope that we haven't went back to the Fulmer way of handling discipline. He brought more disgrace upon us than all of the previous coaches I have seen in my lifetime combined.

I am watching the Jackson scenario with much skepticism. It brings to the forefront how rotten college sports can be. What happens if any of us fail a drug test at work? Automatic termination quicker than one can blink their eye. It should be the same with these players on the very first failed test. Federal funds pour into the universities but the athletes keep getting chance after chance after chance. See what happens to a federal worker that fails a drug test or 'misrepresents' the government or acts in a manner unbecoming of a federal employee. They're gone. Its time to end the double standards. Athletes should have to live up to the same high standards like all of us.

You talk like your educated but in the end you come off sounding ignorant and oblivious to the real world around you. Well i'm sorry that you disagree with living in a country that says your innocent until proving guilty. I'm guessing you would rather College Football embraced military law where you are guilty until proven innocent. Hell i work in dangerous environments like chemical plants and oil refineries and it's not one failed test and your out the door either like you up on your soap box claim it to be. it's probation and suspension and then your out the door if you fail another one. And further more it is only fan speculation hearsay that he even ever failed a drug test to begin with. you sound bitter actually.....did some company fire you on your first failed drug test? sure sounds like it. oh and double standard for athletes?? do you have any idea how many college students smoke weed? And alcohol is an "illegal substance" when your 18. what 18 year old have you ever met that has never drank a beer? I know when i went to tennessee i didn't have to send in a piss sample with my application but then again maybe times have changed. These athletes have to pee in a cup all the time. you can argue that that is part of going to school for free i guess. but still i don't see the double standard your preaching about... i guess regular students have it harder than student athletes....you never had a beer before the age of 21? do you really expect the rest of us to believe that? I'm sure you checked off those boxes on your pristine government application but do you expect the rest of us to buy that? Seriously.... what reality are you living in?

When I see long posts like this, I usually lower my expectations. But this dude pretty much owned the guy above him...

Welcome to the board :hi:

I am in college and know people that smoke weed literally every single day. I know people that drink (underage) 3-4 times a week. And you're sitting here talking about high standards. It's not like my friends are just "some young whipper-snappers gone awry" either--college has been like this for a LONG time. At least act like you live in the real world...

And the people said AMEN. I've been out of college for a few years now, but smoking weed and underage drinking go on at EVERY single school in America. I did it, and I'd be stunned if 98% of the Vol nation didn't at least experiment a time or two. I don't do it now because I don't have the desire. People act like our generation has lost it's values and base that on what's going on at schools and Universities, but ask my father and grandfather, they did it too.

The fact is, it's a part of growing up. And to say that an 18 year old kid should be held to higher standards JUST because he's an athlete is just foolish.

I think that's overstating things. The minority of people who don't "experiment" is larger than what the ones that DID experiment think.

It's either 10% or 25%, I don't remember which but both are really small
