Carrying D. Moore off the field...a new low.

Everyone realizes that we are rebuilding. That's not some great piece of insight. However, Alabama "rebuilt" in three seasons because the only thing needed was better players. After Saturday its obvious that we need more than just better players.

Read through this thread and you'll see a lot are just like KY fans, content with moral victories.

CDD has had four games? You cannot say we need more than just better players at this moment at all. Didn't Saban lose to LA Monroe his first season? At least Dooley and company were able to pull out the win instead of dropping a game to team like UAB. There is nothing obvious after Saturday except that yeah were lucky and escaped with a win.

Can say it and I did say it. Men who actually played the game agree. Look at Georgia, Richt has had at least equal talent to almost every team he's faced the last 5 years but his program is not considered dominant by anyone because more is needed than just talent. Richt has not instilled a champion mentality and its shown for years and it will cost him his job eventually.

Yes, Saban lost, in his first year, because he needed better players. Thanks for further supporting my point.

Yeah and four games is enough to judge CDD on that level?

oh yeah and can it not be argued that pulling his team through in the circumstances shows that he may be capable of turning this team around? I mean thats something Saban failed to do when he lost to LA Monroe.

Pretty weak trying to use one upset as a comparison to the UAB game. So, according to your argument, Saban lost to LA Monroe but won a title a couple of seasons later therefore, since Dooley won against UAB, we should expect quicker results because we are better than that Alabama team. Right?

A new low? What was the last one? Losing to Wyoming? I don't think beating UAB is worse than losing to Wyoming

Losing to Wyoming was supposed to be rock bottom because the program was already in a free fall. I thought it was and we were on the way back up but I don't think the ascension will start until next season.

I am not saying he is better than Saban but I am saying there is really no logic in the argument in saying that CDD is already a failure? He has had four games and we won the two we should have and lost the two that we should have? I am saying he needs more than four games to be judged. He needs about 2 or 3 years. The way this season has gone so far is how most knowledgable fans expected it to go. Understanding that we will not beat top ten teams is not accepting a defeatist attitide but being realistic.

Come on man. No one in this thread has said Dooley is a failure or that he isn't doing a good job. I think Dooley is the perfect fit. I wanted Brian Kelly instead of Kiffin, but now I wish we would have gotten Dooley instead of Kiffin.
The point is that the mental state of a lot of players needs to change. Actually, that is a compliment to Dooley because this project is more difficult than it appeared last year and he's doing a good job with it.

These are young guys who thought they had blown a game against a lesser opponent the week after being in a position to beat UF. I don't think it was a "new low" or even some kind of celebration of triumph. If I had to guess... I'd say it was mostly just massive relief.

FWIW, this game or one like it against someone was necessary for the UT rebuilding process. Last week they probably felt like they lost one they should have won... this week they won one they should have lost. These last two weeks are good lessons for a young team.

Alright, well first there was a miscommunication and I am sorry for that... Also, yeah the mind set of this team is somewhat awkward but that is almost understandable. Three coaches in three years, especially two being a Fulmer that should have been fired about three years earlier and Kiffin (well nothing really needs to be said about him). I agree Dooley seems to be the right fit at the moment but the mindset of this team will change once they themselves are instituted into a culture of winning, which most on this team have not been a part of on the NCAA level. I am personally ok with celebrating the win like they did because they did work their arses off (even though that may not be the level at which we expect our players to preform), but that should be changed in time.

Good thread. I think i'll start the we shouldn't even cheer unless we upset somebody thread.:D

I once got a high five for banging a one legged midget in Vegas.

To each their own.
