Tennessee has been underachieving in football since the second half of the 2001 SEC championship game against LSU. The Vols held a 17-7 halftime lead and were 30 minutes away from the national championship game in the Rose Bowl against Miami

Amazing, isn't it? How 30 minutes of football changed everything? Sure, we've played our share of football since then, generally good, but when bad, VERY bad.

Do we need a change? I think so. But, lets not change for the the sake of changing, like Nebraska did firing Solich after a 10-3 year.

Lets focus first on bringing a whooping down on Kentucky, and then going into Atlanta like a big underdog in a heavyweight title fight. Fundamentals, and heart, and get it freaking done.

We played a solid game against Cal, and got floored badly 2 times. But we're still in the fight, which says something about our kids. Beat your chests, sing Rocky Top, and will it to be so, we ain't done yet!

What a bunch BS. Since when did a 3 to 4 year span become the definition of "long since". The author of this garbage describes these other programs as long since passing us by. We will see over the next couple of years. I heard him spout a lot of pseudo statistics which I see no hard data on. I guess our coaches just dont know how to coach anymore. We have somehow managed to be on the verge of going to the SEC championship game, I guess due to our superior talent and inferior coaching. Does anyone really believe that this year we are more talented than Florida and Georgia. Unless we are just vastly superior talent wise, I dont see how we made it this far with such inferior coaching. Hmmmm, makes me think this guy has an ax to grind

I think the coaches have had their highs and lows this year. The highs were against Georgia and Arkansas and putting us in the drivers seat for the SECC and lows were against Cal, Florida, and Bama. Overall i think the coaching staff has been solid this year considering how young and inexperienced we are on defense.

Let me start by saying I am excited that we have an opportunity to go to the SECCG and I hope we make it. But reallistically, we played the game of the season against UGA when we beat them. They are playing good football right now (and I hate UGA) and are probably the best in the East. Other teams had to lose for us to be in this spot, we didn't dominate the East. Although it will be awesome to make it to the SECCG and hopefully win, I won't be talking any trash because it had a lot to do with luck and perfect timing.

GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!

LUCK?? you say we have good luck?? like the fumble at the start of the CAL game for a TD?? like the fumble when the momentum changed against Florida and the score was 27 - 20 and we had the ball?? Our defense has lost starters to injury, grades and off the field incidents?? Luck.....yea we need some, to go our way!!

Coaching is a problem when you lose key players and you have nothing but youth to work with......I think we have done a great job to get were we are with what we were dealt!! Bama was tail-whipping plain and simple....other than that game, I don't see where the coaches did that bad of a job!! The can't hand it off, they can't throw it for them and they don't fumble the ball....

They can prepare them to avoid/make the most of these situations.

Arian Foster has coughed up the ball in critical moments.....about did against SC, should we get rid of him??

Ainge was blindsided in the CAL game!!

No preparation can forsee turnovers.....I disagree with you there!!

We got our butts whooped against Alabama!! Made adjustments of practice after that loss....and 4 - 0 since

You can prepare to avoid them, and when they happen you can have a defense that is prepared to stop that team in its tracks and make them kick.

Do you remember UT with the same argument during the Peyton years? Florida would beat us and towards the end of the year there was no doubt in all our minds we were playing better. Guess what.... the crown is given over the course of a season not on what you have done lately and that is why Florida went to the SECCG and we sat at home!

And another thing.....

We have laid a spanking on UGA two years in a row now! What in the name of GOD makes you think they would walk in here now and kick our a$$. Cause Richt has them do dances? Cause ESPN says so? Cause their players have selective amnesia?
