Carpenter bees

We have a little birdhouse looking catcher that works well but tbh I enjoy a tennis racket or lacrosse stick if they are hovering too high. Though they will often get right back up and even had a couple get thru the racket strings. Lucky. For a minute.
Believe last year I got around 60 of them.

Ain't seen none of them wood boring bastages this year since I cut the seats and railings off the deck.

We made use of tennis rackets on lightening bugs when we were young. Cool view at night sending one like a meteor. We sucked at tennis so had to use those things for something.

I preferred the badminton racket myself.

Couple of years ago I bought a battery powered tennis racket. It also had the string a little tighter woven. That thing is a blast. You are almost assured of getting them on the swing but if they hang out on the racket then you can burn their butt. Harbor freight sells them.

Your pest control can spray for them. I was skeptical that it would work - but tried it last year and it worked fantastic. The prior year, they nearly destroyed my rear porch that has a tongue and groove ceiling.
