Carolina Panthers

Defense is legit. Still trying to decide if team is pretty good, decent, or just the best of the bad teams.

I'm with you. Yes they're 4-3, but they played two mediocre teams in the last two weeks and the Cardinals dominated them. I think the talent level is very good, but the coaching is extremely mediocre. Hope I'm proven wrong...

The Cardinals dominated them?
Until last half of the fourth quarter, I thought we were going to win the game.
Carolina will end up as the worst of the best, not the best of the worst. They'll get the last playoff spot.

Their defense did. Carolina's offense played a similar type game to the Jimmy Clausen/Matt Moore era. I'm just tired of this team not playing up to their talent level and it starts with Rivera. I'm still not sold on him as a coach.

There is no reason that this team should not be competing for division titles or wildcard spots. If he doesn't get it done this year, no matter how close he is, he needs to be gone. Plain and simple...

What if we are like 9-7 or 10-6 and the Lions get that last playoff spot? I don't think you fire him in that case, unless you know you're going to get a proven upgrade...which won't be easy. Good coaches don't want to work with Richardson, I'm afraid.

Cam Newton became the first player in NFL history to have at least 50 TD passes and 25 TD runs in a span of three seasons.

He's already had 3 seasons. The NFL is a win now league and this team has not been the the playoffs since 2008. It's time to move in a new direction if he can't get them there this season.

Also, in the case of Jerry Richardson, as much as I respect the guy, I don't think this team will win a championship as long as he's the owner.

Damn I love this game today. It ain't been pretty, but each team playing hard and straight knocking the sh!t out of each other.

We need an actual offensive line and a real #2 receiver. We'd be legitimate SB contenders if we had those two taken care of.

Hate to say this because Smitty is one of my favorite Panthers ever, but they need to be in the market for a #1 receiver. At this point in his career and looking at his diminishing skill-set, it's time for Smitty to settle into the #2 or maybe even the slot.

Yeah, I just hate to concede that for Smitty. He's been my favorite player for ten years, now. In the slot, he'd be unstoppable. Sammy Watkins would be a nice addition, but I think I'd rather go OT in the first round. Also, no way Watkins is there when we pick at 32!

I know the casual fan doesn't tend to appreciate such things, but that was a hell of a game yesterday. I enjoy a good defensive slugfest every now-and-then.

They are. Should be 7-2, if not for that debacle up in Buffalo, week 2.

I was making this argument too when I realized we could also very easily be 5-4. Those fumbles at the end of the game would have put SF very close to field goal range.

Monday Night Football!! I'm pretty excited for this one.
It's going to be tough, but I believe the good guys will win a close game.
