Carolina Panthers

A Titans fan in a Travis Henry jersey and fedora told me Cam Newton was a bad role model for kids.

Possibly the most amusing experience I've ever been a part of at an NFL game.

Great time today at Nissan stadium. My kid loves it, though he's siding with the Titans as a fan now. I need to get him to BOA.
I'm a little nervous about how the Washington pro football team has been playing lately.

The new renovations have almost guaranteed that BOA will age well. The one down-side of having a good team (and being a poor college student) is that home tix the rest of the way are $100+.

I don't like Cam and I think he's probably not a nice person, but his dance was awesome. The fact that he continued after the refs got involved was even more awesome. Good for him having some fun out there.

I think he's a nice person. He's a competitor with supreme confidence in himself bordering on arrogance, but most great players are the same way.

For the record, I'm a Titans fan first and Panthers "fan" second, and most Titans fans I know think that letter is an embarrassment.

Say want you want about his performance on the field, but if he's not "a nice person" I don't know who is. You clearly aren't familiar with all he does in his community.
Cam Newton is who I want my son to be like. I've never in my life seen another person enjoy their life as much as he does. That includes other athletes. He even had a smile on his face when he butted heads with Norman in camp. He gets how lucky he is and he just loves every moment he gets on the field.
I tell my son three things to live by: Passion, Tenacity, and gratitude. You do that and you will be a true success story.

i'm old school, and i admit, when i saw it happen, my initial gut reaction was "why do that?"

i still don't like it. i don't think you have to do the extra dance.

now, i don't have an issue with the 1st one....get up, do yo thang, it's what he does and he's done it since day one.

it was the 2nd and 3rd one that got my initial reaction.

but as i've looked back on it, and saw the dance #54 did after the sack, and him being the one to jump up and try to stop Cam...i find it amusing that everyone gets on their high horse with Cam.

Brady can head butt, fist pump, scream, yell, point etc....and he's "firey".

Rodgers can do the "belt" and many of the same things Brady does, and he's having fun and being a "leader".

Cam does it, and he's a poor role model, not a good human being, and a thug.

theres's certainly a double standard here. and at this point, i say go ahead wit yo bad self Cam. and absolutely loved his response post game. classic.

Keep Pounding. 9-0.

I wish someone would have tackled him while he was dancing in the endzone. The players should have defended their turf better than that. It was embarrassing watching him do that. Apparently it didn't cause their team too much grief.

Thomas Davis was on the radio in Charlotte today saying the team has Cam's back 100%. they're having fun and they believe in each other.

good stuff coming out of the queen city...nothing embarrassing about 9-0!!!!

No, I'm not familiar with it. I do know what I read about him getting kicked out of Florida and what NFL scouts thought about him, basically saying that he had been groomed to be "on" for the media and milk it for all it is worth, but when the cameras are off he switches personalities and doesn't give a crap about anyone. Basically he's just like a politician from what's been reported about him over the years.

That's not "what's been reported about him over the years," though, really. It was just a suspicion people had before the draft, and then people thought he moped too much when the Panthers weren't winning. I think he's extremely competitive, but nothing about his NFL career suggests that he's fake.

What he's thinking about is when that guy wrote and article about how Cam had a fake smile. Riveting sports journalism!
He made a dumb mistake as a freshman in college. Didn't you? I did a lot of stupid things. I'm actually lucky to be alive.
He also got heat for (probably) taking money to go to Auburn, though his father seems to have been the mastermind in that scheme. If you think Cam Newton is the only player in the pros to take money in college, well then bless your little heart.
That's one of the reasons I like him so much. He was a knucklehead in college but really came out of it and grew up.

Look up Braylon Beam and what all Cam has done for that kid on his own. I'm pretty sure Braylon was even at the Tennessee game this week.
How about all of the kids he gives a football to after a TD? I'm sure that will be spun to somehow be selfish too, right?
At training camp, he stays late to show love to all of the kids that want to meet him. He doesn't have one characteristic of a diva, though so many people want him to be, for some reason.
He throws high and sulks sometimes when he should rally his team...but he is absolutely a "nice person."

I, for one, applaud Cam for exposing more of America's casual racists. I thought the 2008 Obama election had finished the job but I guess I was wrong. A few reasons why Cam dancing shouldn't be news at all:

-Cam is actually one of the most charitable players in the league

-the Titans player that got mad did the Hotline Bling dance after sacking Newton earlier in the game

-Titans fans are more concerned with another team's QB dancing than their own team failing miserably

-in a league that features guys that have beaten up their girlfriends or sexually assaulted girls at bars, a player dancing in the endzone after a touchdown is somehow the most disgusting act

Carson Palmer literally did a DX chop while mouthing "SUCK IT" to Seattle fans Sunday.Tom Brady regularly gets in refs' faces and has extended explicit tirades. Phillip Rivers talks **** incessantly. None of this ever gets talked about.

Color Rush unis unveiled. Don't mind the look, but like the other ones, continuing the color down to the socks and shoes is a bit much.
