Does anyone else think we wasted his redshirt tonight? We could have ran Kelly, or any of the walk ons to run out the clock.

I would of liked to see him line up as a redshirt freshman next year and compete with Chandler for carries.

I want to agree with you ... but coaches must have had their reasons for doing that.

As he's healthy, he can contribute on ST. Plus, I'm sure they want to get him comfortable in the flow of the game since he'll be a bigger factor next year.

I will say he ran with more authority than I thought he would when I saw him listed at 175 this offseason

4 running backs. 2 starters and 2 backups. We'd be crazy to not let him get some touches this year. Injuries can happen at any time. He needs to get a feel for college ball just in case.

Pretty sure he did not want to red-shirt, and probably talked the coaches into a promise that he wouldn't have to during his recruitment process.

Remember, Butch only planned to red-shirt 4 players this year. And everyone's thinking was that the 4 = Guarantano and the 3 offensive linemen.

So it appears Fils-Aime was never in the cards for a red shirt anyway.

Go Vols!

It's hard to redshirt a running back in today's game. I can't remember the last decent 5th year senior running back since Travis Stephens. Most want to get to the league as early as they can with as much tread on their tires.
