I thought it was interesting they put him in late instead of JK or someone else. But regardless I thought Carlin ran well when he was in.

no reason really to redshirt a RB we have 1-2 coming in every year.

This is the answer. No need to redshirt a running back. Put him on special teams and get him some garbage time reps when possible.

Kelly did but after that he didn't play in the 4 min run clock drill, they put Fils-aime in instead. And he ran good. I'm surprised they would burn redshirt instead of keeping JK in.

I'm guessing the reason JK didn't play more is because we might need him for significant carries if any injuries ahead of him take place and no need to risk him getting injured in trash time.

CFA looked good against their 2nd string.

CFA and Kelly will be the one two punch next year. Hope they get a lot of time against Ohio this week

Were they pronouncing his name correctly? "Filsamey" is how it sounded at the track. I thought it was more a of a hyphenated "Fills - Aime"

I'd expect AK, JK and CFA to get a lot of carries this week. They will try to keep Jalen's hit count low heading into UF.

IIRC, a player can play a number of quarters and still RS. Not sure if that's the play with CFA or not.

He did look very good picking his way through the center of VT's front 7.

I could be wrong but I think that only applies to medical redshirt

That's only a medical redshirt.

They were not planning on redshirting CFA, so it makes sense to play him.

At this point, it looks like Kamara will be back next year. He's barely touched the ball through two games, so unless that changes, he probably will be a mid-round prospect at best.

He should get his reps when he can because if Hurd and Kamara go pro, Chandler will be pushing hard for that backup role behind Kelly.

Playing CFA was a stroke of genius. The message that sent to Ty Chandler and other recruits is clear. There's playing time aplenty. Come To Tennessee and Play!
That's the message!
