Careful recruits are watching

Fellow VOL fans, I know we have suffered much and are understandably worried that we are getting burned again, we still have to put negativity aside and give the man a chance. The hire has been made and the die has been cast. Tearing the man down before he even picks up the whistle Guarantees failure. At least give the man the benefit of the doubt. It is tough I know when we have been disappointed so many times. But we don’t want to fall into the trap of creating the very thing we most fear. Self fulfilling promises are real.

I will whenever they give us something to be positive about. Until then, I remain skeptical and not getting my hopes up like I have the last few times.

After White declaring "no stone unturned" and comes back with a guy that could have been on the same plane ride doesn't sit well. Deceiving to say the least. More accurately nepotism reigns. This was a time for a name brand, not a generic.

I'm sure they are also watching the hiring of a worthless AD and HC

Why say that? Give them a chance to succeed? Recruits to read message boards. There are two elite high school kids n my area that read volnation.

One is top three player in the state while his brother is considered an athlete though he plays QB.

Nothing wrong with that attitude, cause I feel some of the same. I just wish people would stop blasting negativity and criticism at the top of their lungs on social media and everywhere else they go. It's one thing to lose some passion, but doing things that collectively begin to shape public opinion of current and future fans and influence potential recruits will not get us back to what we all want - to win at a competitive level.

This "great" AD couldn't get anyone except his pal from his old job

This "great" HC took a program that was 13-0 and he left them at 6-4

I'm sure they also take notice of the failure at every level of athletics at UT

Dont disagree with you, but the purchase has been made and we can’t afford another „restocking fee“ on a return. Gotta buckle up and hope 🥺. But it is sad that the administration keeps putting the program and the fans through this cycle

Nothing we say will determine whether this guy can coach and whether he will win or even "chase championships"..... period, end of story.....

I'll spend my energies and money elsewhere until he proves me wrong. After I go through my death throes from this hiring, that is.
I understand. Just at least give silence for the next little bit if you feel a need to complain. I get it!!! We just owe the man the courtesy of a chance. If he isn’t the right one, we will know. But the heck with waiting 3 to 4 years for knowing. Even with sanctions and a depleted roster, we will identify any positive changes quickly by the way the team plays.

Well you got to understand a lot of these so called fans are trolls of other teams trying cause unrest and sow the seeds of discontent among the fanbase. Most are useful idiots for their programs and a nuisance to ours. Chicken little syndrome

We don’t know who he spoke with about the job. If you are a business owner whose business is struggling while needing a manager, you will hire someone you trust and who has shown success.
Or maybe the search firm called agents of coaches or power five coaches to gauge interest for the UT job and were told “not interested.”

Our program is a dumpster fire now. We are no longer an elite program. We avg a SEC title every ten yrs while winning the East once every five years.
We have sanctions and recruiting is a bear.
I don’t think Freeze or Kififn were contacted for obvious reasons. I don’t think we were they high on Clemson’s OC as their admin said UT had not contacted him nor his agent.

White marches to the beat of another drummer and he said day one “that he wasn’t going to call those On the public’s list.”

Idk what the future holds and it pains me to see my alma mater struggle for the past 23 years. My son will be attending next fall and I know campus life is more enjoyable with a winning program.
Sorry for any grammatical errors as on my cell phone and getting ready for a meeting. Lol

I look forward to your post as I know we both want a Winner!

I get not wanting to hire Freeze but I don't get not wanting to hire Kiffin.

You are right the program is a dumpster fire, they are pretty much a mid major at this point

$$ makes people want to be interested I am going to guess Heupel's contract will pay out somewhere around 4.5 mil. If this program ever wants to be a big boy they need to pony up and pay like one

Also it's way too convenient he hired his buddy from his former job

Real quick as I have a conf call. Ramon Foster and Troy Fleming both said they like Lane. However, you can’t go back to the well. Lane concerns me as he pushes the envelope too far and almost got us on probation.
He has matured but idk if he would stay @ UT if someone else came knocking in two yrs. Lane just scares me so I was against the hire due to our circumstances.

Well, you need to worry about what UCF’s fan sites are saying about our new coach too!

Why would LK leave to come to this dumpster fire? And don’t say money. I’ll never understand the people saying he would come and actually thought it was a real thing. Do you think he wants to coach through sanctions?

Literally do not care at all. These kids aren't reading VolNation. They're on Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, ect... Their parents may be on here, but thats a big maybe.

try watching this press conference again while imaging you are a highly rated recruit. Would you sign with this guy? I hope he is Tennessee's most successful coach in history, but I don't see talent signing up. Hope I am wrong.
