Can't Spell Citrus Without UF?

Found this amusing anecdote buried in an ESPN article about Spurrier returning to Florida:

Another guy told Spurrier that he met him at the 1997 Citrus Bowl, and Spurrier immediately turned around to Martin and others and winced.

"After all the grief I gave Tennessee about going to the Citrus Bowl all those years, and we went that year," Spurrier said with a sheepish smile. "I remember standing on the field before the game and Tennessee had a plane fly overhead with a banner that read: Tennessee wants to welcome Florida to the Citrus Bowl.

"Somebody standing beside me said, 'That's not very funny,' and I looked at him and said, 'Yeah it is.' "

Made me chuckle.

Funny. Here's another quip by OBC in the article:

I love the OBC. One of my favorites was after Sumlin signed a Sabanesque contract with A&M, Spurrier was asked what he thought of Sumlin and he said, "I don't know a whole lot about him, but I know he's a good negotiator."

Maybe in a while, once he's been gone for a good number of years, I'll appreciate him. But my dad never liked him, and all my life I never liked him. Especially when he got to USCjr and STILL won, and STILL talked crap. It was always really funny whether it was aimed at your school or not, so I guess at some level he was amusing. But for now I still dislike him.
