Canes vs Gators

The Gators are giving Miami quite a game. Their defense is for real.
Yes and no. Beck has missed some wide open guys and their offense has looked very vanilla. On the sack that ended Miami's previous drive, UF had a coverage breakdown and there was a Miami WR down the sidelines with no one within 15 yards of him. Beck never saw him.

True, but any defense left on the field too long is eventually going to fold. Maybe not collapse, but they’ll get tired enough where they start giving up scores. We are definitely gonna have to get our defense healthy and up to snuff before we go down there.
Yep, the UF offense has consistently made it tough on their defense. UF defense has nothing to hang their heads about though, they are solid.

Is Napier still the coach when they play us on Nov. 22?
I'm not certain they can afford to let him go before the end of the season. The buyout is around $21 million with 50 percent due within 30 days of his dismissal. Basically it's 85 percent of his remaining contract. If they wait till after the season it's obviously a bit cheaper. They are also still paying Dan Mullen $1 m annually through July 2027.

I don't think the buyout drops below the 21 million figure until after the 2026 season.

Sadly, I have made a bundle betting against the Gators. Bet with your head not your heart.
Ha! You’re telling Tennessee fans that? We know it all too well. Hate to say it, but I used to take money off my buddies almost every year the 90s betting on Florida when they played us.

UF was ready to can him last year until he salvaged the season. I doubt that happens again.

Would Cignetti go coach Florida? I’m wondering which successful coach would leave a Big 10 or SEC job to take on that mess.

This is weird to say, but Tennessee looks like a better job than Florida right now. Who would have thought that a few years ago?

I don’t think Cignetti would, but they shouldn’t have a problem finding a very good coach if and when Napier is fired.

I think it’ll either be Lane Kiffin or Alex Golesh that turns up at Florida if they let Napier go
