They just went into Baton Rouge and Miami and went toe to toe with two really good, top 5 ranked teams.

If their offense had any life, they’d have won at least one of them if not both. They have one of the better defenses in the SEC and one of the worst offenses. If Lagway ever comes around, look out. That game on 11/22 is going to be tough.

All of this… and Florida never really stopped Miami running the ball. Miami got away from the run and gave Florida some life. The runs weren’t chunk plays, but Miami was sustaining long drives on the ground. Not everybody has Miami’s OL, but I would make Florida stop the run all day long.

Florida was missing some DL and playing freshmen in the front 7. That might be part of the reason. Plus, if they were missing guys, depth becomes a problem and they wore down at the end.

I think Golesh should take the job if offered.
He can't lose.
He has made USF decent. If he leads the Gators and doesn't pan out, he gets fired and hired for a job about equal to his present USF job.
He will have a fat contract that will pay far more than a mid-major. He'll be very wealthy and coaching at his present level again.

Guaranteeing a college coach, one of the most difficult and demanding jobs in the country, tens of millions of dollars whether he succeeds or fails never ever made any sense to me. Coaching is a 24/7 365 job. You are incentivizing these coaches to fail. I'm not saying every coach on a guaranteed contract is purposefully trying to lose, but have you seen the way Billy Napier coaches in the last 2 minutes of halves? Convince me that he's trying to win. I doubt anyone can. Kalen Doeboer's staff checks out at 5 PM every day I've read. Brian Kelly is really bad at pretending to care when LSU loses games but he hasn't convinced me.
