If you don't think UT has talent on the sideline, you're sorely mistaken. And I'm not just talking about EB. No sir, there's a ton of talent wearing Tennessee Orange. That was part of the frustration within the Volnation. Plenty of athletic talent, just not much confidence in the ability to play like a team. No one believed in each other...especially the offensive line in the qb play...that was the main problem. And if we can keep this offseason momentum going, without the negativity bringing it down, I think it will transfer onto the field. Yea yea...I've been drinkin the Kiff Aide...but I don't give a s#!t I love my Vols and believe it or not I want to see them succeed. Which is more than I can say about some of you pansies out there and even on this forum. "I'm just being realistic...." Puuuullleeease!!! You've just become accustomed to losing....well it's time for a change...and it's coming, so if you don't wanna change, then get the he11 out of the way cuz me and the rest of the "VOL FAITHFUL" are coming through to support our Vols and our coach.....GO VOLS!!!:rock2:

I think the talent is there. It takes a good coach to recognize the strengths of the talent that he has and adjusts his system/philosophy accordingly. FL has a system and recruits players to fit their system. CLK will have to make adjustments the first couple of years until he get the players he wants to run his system properly. Until then all we can do is weather the storm and support him and the team.

Go Vols!!!!

Anything has to be better than 08's season. I just hope that after two or three loses, if that happens, we don't all start throwing him under the bus and ready for more heads to roll. I can already see the chavis/monte fulmer/kiffin threads.

I already get that feeling on some other threads here about his receruiting and his coaching record.Who cares? Some fans just love to hate and love to be negative. And it doesn't matter if he wasn't the best choice in other people's opinions but he's our coach now and we should support him like we support the orange and white. How bout them Vols?!

GO VOLS!

2 or 3 losses??? If wonderboy has 2 or 3 losses in the 1st 4 or 5 games he will thrown under the bus, and then the bus will be put in reverse to make sure we got him... This is UT, not Oakland.. He needs to live up to the hype or go get in line with Fulmer... That 5 and 15 junk isn't going to work here... I think he will be OK and do a fine job, but he better win...To heck with this compete thing.. We want wins.... Don't talk smack in the presser if you can't back it up.... I think he said something like "It will be good to sing Rocky top next year after we beat Florida..Anyone can say it, he is getting paid big bucks to prove it... We "ain't" Bama and he "ain't" Shula so win or get out.. I personally hope he wins every game and the NC..GO VOLS!!!!:good!:

Huh? I don't even own a rain coat... We would still have Fulmer if we were into storm shelters... I hope we all don't get soft like MH and say oh it will be alright..We will get em' next year... That is What CPF thought too.....I am all for supporting the team though.. They only do what they are coached to do..... I also agree with the post that said..I hope he is thier coach and not a buddy to them.. As a great coach one said some thing like "Show me a good loser and it is still a loser" ..CLK you talk a big game.. let see it in action..:salute:

You are one of the biggest joke of a poster towards the new coach that I have read.

lol.. Who's joking??? He should win.. I'm not trying to bash him, and I think he will do a good job.. I expect him to win though.. that is what he is getting paid for... I will always support the team as I always have no matter what happens... I will support him also as long as he is winning.. I'm sorry if I have made anyone mad, but I expect more than an 8 win season and a contract extension.

You are right. Anyone thinking that CLK will dominate with the present talent is setting themselves up for fail. There is talent but not to Florida or Georgia level (more lile Ole Miss). It will take time. To be honest, I would be happy if CLK could just change the mindset of the team and get the very best out of them (like CNS was able to do).

This is realistic. We don't have tier 1 talent across the board, but with good coaching, we have plenty to be competitive.

I will be extremely pleased to see our team overachieve. Honestly, I don't think I can remember a Tennessee team overachieving since 1989, or maybe even 1985. Not to pile on, because he's off to greener pastures, but I don't think a Fulmer team ever "over-achieved."

Back to the original post, I would think that with the new coach, and the visiting team being UCLA, that ABC or ESPN will pick this game up and put it as a night game. There will be storylines galore for this matchup. Regardless, night or day, I think Neyland will be electric and ready to unload the frustrations of the 2008 season on the Bruins. If CLK does not get chills from the "T" or the pure energy from the crowd, his pulse might need to be checked.

My bad. Did not realize Western Kentucky was the actual 1st home game. Oh well, take away the TV aspect but Neyland will still be rocking.
