Can You Imagin Neyland Stadium Like This?

I've lived in Miami and their fan base is every bit as into football as we are. Not saying the ACC is on par with the SEC, but it wouldn't be fair to call them an uninvolved fan base. Also, they hit rock bottom much sooner after reaching their peak. Our decline was slow and steady.

Are you serious? The Canes don't draw squat when they are good outside of playing FSU or UF.

If that were inside the stadium I feel like the strip would be rowdy, people would just keep drinking instead of going to the game... would be epic

Neyland will never look like that. Its Miami. They don't care about college sports.

That is idiotic....support your team no matter what....The university cares about winning....if they think Dooley can get it turned around he will stay.....if not we will move on to the next guy.....i think we will move on at the end of the season but am worried about who we will get.

Yep, I am the idiot.

The grandfathers donors will still purchase the tickets. Whether they go or sell is another question. What we need to be concerned with is how many new donors opt out. With next years schedule, tickets can easily be had on the street for less than purchasing season tickets.

To the OP's point, one need look no further than the Strip's motley collection of run down bars and crappy restaurants to see Tennessee's lack of success in football.

I attended the 2005 homecoming game v. Memphis and that was one of the lowest attended games I have ever attended. I got 10 tickets together for free in the lower deck and you could walk down to about the 10th rown and sit there. No one attended that game. It was a realy sad day for Neyland stadium. It looked more bare than that picture of last weekend's homecoming. These are dark days my fellow Rocky Toppers.

On a higher note: The best game I ever attended was the 2002 6OT game against Arkansas. That games was awesome!!

I've been lurking on this forum for years, but after seeing this thread, I thought I'd share this picture with you all.

360 Panorama

This is a panoramic picture taken by one of my coworkers right before kickoff last Saturday in Neyland.

A sad sight indeed....

When I was looking at this photo, I noticed that the student section is inexistent. That is pathetic. I never missed a single freakin' game when I went to UT. :banghead2:

Incoming infraction.

Get the **** off the students' collective dicks.

Do you see the other 70% of the stadium? Also empty. UT also didn't suck this bad when you were a student.

If I was still at UT, I wouldn't have wasted my time or money. Maybe the AD will get the point. Nobody wants to see this trash they put on the field.

I can criticize the student section all I want I was a student there recently and I attended every d*** game, no matter how terrible we had been playing. Rain or mother freakin' sunshine, ***hole. I was there for the '07-'10 seasons so do not tell me that Tennessee was not as bad when I was there. I ATTENDED THE UNIVERSITY WHEN THE S**T HIT THE FAN. I ATTENDED THE UNIVERSITY WHEN PHIL WAS LET GO, WHEN BRUCE PEARL WAS FIRED, WHEN KIFFIN TOOK OFF. I ATTENDED THE GAMES NO MATTER WHAT SO IF I FEEL LIKE B****ING ABOUT THE M***** F****** STUDENT SECTION THEN I WILL B**** ABOUT THE M***** F****** STUDENT SECTION.

Statistically,

You weren't there for the worst. You had a 10-4 season. I was there from '08-'12. So don't talk down to me like you were some martyr for the team. I was there for both 5-7 seasons. I was at every single game home and away for two years. I gave up chunks of my Christmas breaks to be at the football games for band too.

You're not a hero for paying $10 a week to see a bad football team. Stop acting like you are. You're not better than anyone who didn't go.

It's time for all the hillbillies to realize there are more important things to do on Saturday than watch a team barely scrape by Troy. When that changes, seats will be filled.

It doesn't matter when you were a student or even if you were one at all. We are all going through the same tough years at the same time no matter if you are at the games or not. Bottom line is that you have a very good chance of being disappointed when you leave the stadium. The students aren't to blame for this, hell I bet there were just as many season ticket holders missing. This is arguably the worst Tennessee has ever been and if you are saying these games are all worth going to then you are only convincing yourself.

So anybody that watches from home instead of the stadium is a bandwagon fan?

Ha.

Okay.

Never said that. At this point, you are just grasping at straws. I do not need to say anything more. People will read your previous posts about the "hillbilly" fanbase and how people do not need to attend games when the team is not doing well, and people will know... you suck on so many different levels.

Said the child who can't make any argument without 10 profanities and making the text huge.

I'm not grasping for anything. Either you understand it or you don't. It's not my problem that you value football over everything else in life.
