I used to have this feeling. Maybe you had it too? Year after year TN's football program seemed to be slipping into obscurity. The excitement and pride of TN football slowly fading away. I saw Florida (pretty much) as a loss every year and Georgia steadily becoming Florida's new contender in the east (replacing UT). Alabama was coming on strong and our recruiting was becoming mediocre at best. I heard less and less about the big orange on TV and in the news. People were not excited about where the program was heading or about TN football in general. Even if we finished well enough to get a bowl, I cringed at the thought of playing someone worth a darn (I knew it might not end well for the big T). BUT that was then and this is now. The pride is back, the confidence is back, the big orange is back. So, now I don't really care who you are, I don't care what the letter or emblem on the side of your helmet says. I don't care if its at home or away or what bowl it is. You had better strap your boogying boots on if your gonna play the VOLS cause were gonna bring it. Now understand something, by CLK's own words he is not here to play nice or to get popularity votes. He is here for one reason and one reason only, to win football games. I don't know about you but I needed it, I really needed it. We ain't taking a backseat to anyone, not anymore. So thanks CLK, I guess the confidence bleeds over to fans as well as players. And besides all this, you have to admit (fan of UT or not), he has been worth the money just for the entertainment value.

Absolutly... even the media thinks we are to be feared... over the last few years nobody went into the game thinking they couldn't beat us... now every team we play has the thought of... how do we beat UT? It's a great feeling... in all my years I never would have thought going to see a 3--4 UT team would be a fun and exciting game to get to... but I will be ready and I feel a big beat down on the cocks coming to reiterate just where this program is headed. I feel 8-4 is about a 85-90 thing that will happen! GO VOLS!

Its nice knowing that we don't have to win on talent alone... we can out coach and out-scheme.

Have stayed away from the forum this year, just because I wanted to give CLK a fair shake without the haters tainting it. I'm here! I love the new look of our game. I'm super stoked about the next couple of years at UT football! I've been lucky enough to have 5 games televised in Tampa! Rock on UT! Bring the noise!

Come on man. Feel welcome to post your thoughts regardless of what they are. Most of us are grown ups and can handle it and probably would appreciate it. The Big Orange is on the way back to the top and as OWB would say we're here, we're Volunteer, get used to it....:p

Just waiting to see what's going to take place over the next couple of years. A loyal Vol fan all the way regardless of how the season ends. Want some of those glory days back again. Looking for a top 10 or top five by 2011! GO VOLS!

It's amazing what wins over Western Kentucky, Ohio, and Georgia will do for a fan base.
Would you please outline for us what the gator fanbase's general demeanor will be when y'all lose a game before the SEC title game. Timmy will have to go ballistic again.

Come on now Hman, we both know that's not likely to happen. If by some odd chance it does it certainly won't be the end of the world.

Thanks man! Great to have you as a closet Vols fan! I am sure many more will start coming out once Tebow is gone. I wouldn't have wanted to play us in Knoxville as a UF fan next year anyway... welcome aboard!

Naaaaah it will be the end of the FU fan base though. They will go running after UM gear as fast as they possibly can.. which won't be too fast since your jorts are stuck in your buttcrack preventing speed.

It's amazing what a preseason number one ranking and a schedule that (after Saturday) will contain only one ranked team can do for an average team's chances at a national championship. gators arrogance never ceases to amaze me. 1... ONE ranked team on your schedule.. and you are still number one.

But.. I guess being lucky is sometimes better than good.

I agree... It's great to be a Florida Gator.

True enough, UF has looked vulnerable the past few games, but I feel pretty good about them opening a can on Georgia. The rest of the schedue is manageable.
Here's challenging you guys beating the Dawgs by more than 45-19..... :p
