Geez people, we get it. You're behind the team. Others are not.

It's great that you will blindly support the team and staff, no matter how bad they are.

Guess what, there are many of us on the fence that will be there Saturday, and have been there throughout.

But you are not a better fan just because you don't question things.

There aren't any band wagon fans left. If there are, they haven't been paying attention since probably 2004.

Agreed. I spend money to drive up to the games. I spend money on the tickets. I spend money on hotels while I'm there. I spend money to eat while I'm in Knoxville. I spend money at any number of liquor stores in Knoxville. I have done this since I graduated in 1979. Therefore, as I see it, I have paid for the right to ***** and moan as much as I want. Anyone who says I'm not a "true fan" might say so from behind their computer screen but are too chickens**t to say it to my face.

No.

People have prided themselves as being real fans because they wear blinders and playing the true Vol fan card since Majors at least.

It's gone to a fever pitch since Kiffin cut and run though.

It's like some have the mentality that if they say anything bad about a coach, he may up and leave.

Well said, we haven't won crap in 17 years, guess what if you are posting on any site, complaining or supporting you are a real fan.

We have the best fan base in the country, look at FSU, they are back on the national scene, top 15 team and didn't sell out their stadium vs South Florida, they had more then one game last year with empty seats, think that happens at Tennessee? Not a chance.

Some of us complained about not throwing the ball enough last week, and look what happened.

I wish it were that easy, sometimes.

Terrible isn't it.

Even though Arkansas tried to give us the game several times.

If you are referring to the fake fg, I actually thought that was a great call. If they got it, great, game is likely over, if not, we still had to go 90 plus yards to score. It worked out much better for them than kicking the fg, then giving us the ball back with likely a chance to return the kick and get much better field position.

It was the wrong thing to do.

All it took was for us to score, game over. Had they took the 3 and we scored, they are still in it.

Their fans aren't happy.

I disagree completely, for the reasons stated above. They could see our offense falling apart, and knew that we couldn't sustain a drive that long. And we proved them right by promptly going 3 and out and nearly turning the ball back over.

Against a better offense, yes, it's a bad call. But again, given our special teams play and the fact that we could really swing momentum with a great kick return, IMO, it was a great call, just poorly executed.

I should be upset. But, I'm not. Our season has ALWAYS hinged on UF. So, we usually know our season by the third or fourth game. Even most years when we went to the SEC it was because UF stumbled. So, I've trained myself to hinge it all on UF.

"True fans" is a logical fallacy called "No True Scotsmen"... Anyone that drops a "true fan" statement isn't speaking logically and therefore has nothing worth considering to offer... Best to just roll your eyes and move along...

LOL, this is classic. Please stop presenting your opinion since you don't agree with me. But I guess the "true fan" posters are kind of doing the same thing. So you're two sides of the same coin. Congratulations.

It's not that, really. It's just the attitude that...nevermind. You pretty much nailed it.

Fan vs. Fan - great. Fan vs. coaches - wonderful. Fan vs. players - just peachy. I graduated from UT too. I've spent money too. I've celebrated wins and sat depressed and bewildered at losses. It has been a while in the desert. We all want to win - pumpers and NegaVols. None of this attacking each other is very productive and posting is only marginally cathartic. We may be close to breaking through, and the wheels may come off. At this point it could go either way. If it did not mean a lot to us we would not be here trying to straighten this crazy sh*t out. Love him or hate him, Butch will never understand how much this means to all of us. I sometimes think it's nuts to be so invested in a game - in a dozen weeks of entertainment in the Fall. God help me though I love it and never fail to get a chill when they run through the T. I measure many moments in my life with games. My wife looks at me and says who remembers that? I do. Those of you here do too.

careful now, butch is "making a mental note of who is for us and who is against us to be used at a later date''......those are his words not mine ( not verbatim, but essentially what he said)

I find it both disturbing and disgusting how quickly the volunteer nation has turned on Jones. He's worked his ass off up to this point and this is the thanks he gets? Maybe he's not the guy to take the Vols to another NC, but he doesn't deserve to have a knife shoved in his back.

I draw the line at making fun of your own team. It's pathetic. Also, trolling every thread to derail serious questions or making declarations that it's a personal mission to derail every conversation. It's just unproductive.
