Assuming Florida beats UK, Alabama beats Vandy, and UGA beats Miss State. What are everyone's thoughts on our road to the SEC East?

Can we win with a 5-3 record? Last year a 5-3 record would have nearly won the East and led us to a Sugar Bowl appearance.

Thoughts....?

You don't want Florida to beat UK. You want UK to win.

However, we will not win the East with a 5-3 record. 6-2 wins the East this year.

I'll believe Kentucky when I see it. They've pulled this fast start routine before.

Sure they CAN win the east.just like they COULD HAVE won the east last year MULTIPLE times.

The question is WILL they win the east.

Can we? Yes

Will we? No

6-2 will win the East. That means there's no margin for error other than the Bama game. We have enough talent/schedule to go 10-2. We have enough concerns to go 5-7 as well.

If Kentucky wins the east with the players they have that should tell everyone what they need to know about our coaching staff. It doesn't take one of butch's bricks to fall on your head to figure that out. I know we play bama and Georgia still but LSU looked God awful.

Need to beat UGA, and need Florida to lose 3.

Florida losing 3 is going to be tough to come by.

Actually we need to finish 6-2 with a win over Georgia. If Georgia loses to us and 1 other not named Florida, Florida would then lose to UGA and drop another.

At 6-2 with losses to Florida and Bama, we would likely be ranked higher than UGA with losses to UT/1 other (MSU Likely) and Florida with losses to UGA/1 other.

However, I think we finish 7-5.

We'll know our fate next Saturday. Beat UGA and I believe we can beat LSU along with everyone else on our schedule not named Bama. 10-2 is as possible as 7-5 at this point.

The SEC doesn't use ranking as a tie-breaker.

For UT to win a three-way tie, and assuming a loss to Bama:

-UGA beat Florida
-UGA lose to MSU or Auburn
-Florida lose to Vandy, USCe, Kentucky or Mizzou

Florida would have the worst division record, and UT would have the head-to-head over UGA.

Forgive them Bama. UT hasn't been close enough to win the east in so long that these youngsters don't know these rules.
