I wonder how many of the people upset with the chancellor even attend or hold degrees from Tennessee. Believe it or not, the chancellor has more on his plate than the football team. The university is doing well and it's reputation has improved greatly even since I graduated from there (which wasn't even that long ago). I'm a diehard UT sports fan, but that's entertainment. He's running a large academic institution. Most of the people wanting to fire him because of football couldn't run a faucet.

Dont assume anything. Im for firing Jimmy Cheek AND I went to school there as well. Let's be realistic here. Tennessee is NOT Vanderbilt, Stanford, Princeton or Harvard. If someone wants a degree from such institutions then I encourage them to do so. This is Tennessee and football is a large part of academic life. Now I do care about academics. However, Mr. Cheek needs to stick to academic affairs and keep his nose out of the athletic department. He would be able to keep his attention focused on what he is good at and avoid "putting too much on his plate" by staying out of athletic department business. If Cheek is so busy why is he even getting into Dave Hart's business?

I think Cheek, Susan Martin and others need to quit worrying they will receive lower donations for academics or that things will get out of balance. When Tennessee football does well everybody does well. Donations and grants for research would likely go up and certainly would NOT go down.

Jack Reese was a great chancellor but he also kept his nose out of Bob Woodruff's department back in the day. There are too many academic people that dislike the football program over there. This state and local community along with the businesses in the area need the football team to do well for the money it generates.

Didnt Cheek work several years at the University of Florida? You can draw your own conclusion about that ...

like I said earlier FIRE CHEEK if he cant leave the football program alone

I concur.

He needs to focus on educating the kids and let AD Hart do his job.

If the time comes when he thinks Hart isn't doing his job well enough then fire Hart and go find a guy that will do a much better jobas AD.

It's really not that complicated and he doesn't have to be in on every meeting and decision that AD Hart makes.

He's needs to learn what delegate duties means, LOL/

VFL...GBO!!!

Right here on this board. Has it's own thread. Not going to do the homework for you.

So you are referencing things you have read on Volnation.com message boards as "articles"? That's funny. Lovie must be staying at your place until he can find the right time to announce.

Rain Man, there are threads here pointing to articles. Since you want to be a smart arse about it, I'm not inclined to point you to them.

But haven't you heard? We are a football school!! We should just close down the seperate colleges inside the institution and pay every faculty member to recruit for football. Hell just shut down the basketball, track, and all the other sports while we're at it.
