For the record, you confirmed exactly what I thought. You are someone who wants to fire the chief academic officer of the university because he doesn't suit your football whims, but you don't care about the academic side of the university at all. Why would you? You went elsewhere, and for good reason. It would be like me calling for the head of the CFO at Lowe's home improvement.

Because he's trying to push his way around in the AD....trying to dictate who we keep or hire. If he minds his own damn business (Academic, as you say), then I don't care and have no dog in the hunt. But the moment he crosses the line and tries to dictate to the AD and Boosters something as important as the HC hiring/firing...then he becomes a problem.

UT can find another decent President. It's nowhere as critical to get it right as the HC of the program that is the lifeblood of all athletics at UT.

If UT has a sub-standard HC, then the entire AD suffers. I think Cheek is both envious that a coach of Gruden or Saban's caliber would earn exponentially more than he could hope to, and the fact that Hart may be trying to reduce the amount the AD donates to the Univ.

We pay more than twice what any program offers, back to the Univ. In the SEC, several programs do not donate anything back to their Univ. We are at a serious disadvantage because that is $$$ we could put back into the program to compete with the Bama's and LSU's and UF's.

And you got this information from where? You don't know any more about the discussions between Hart, Cheek, boosters, Dooley, Gruden, etc. than the rest of us. You got your panties all atwixt based on some message board/radio show garbage about what Cheek is or isn't doing, when none of us knows ANYTHING.

Furthermore, what are the pre-reqs to get in to the art program on the Hill. Looks like it must be pretty steep.

People are going to throw things, but I promise this is true. In 1979, I knew a guy who made 8 on the ACT and was admitted to UTK on academic probation. He flunked out but still....

Other SEC schools have a big name coach and are going to big bowl games. If Cheek does have a hand in stopping this Gruden thing then he has to be fired.

So you won't have any trouble linking me to an article that has any sort of references then? I'd love to read how Cheek is sticking his nose in the hirings and firings of the current athletic department.
