Watching some highlights of last year, I notice how yellow our jerseys look on TV. I didn't watch a game with the new jerseys on TV last season so i havent noticed until now. I dont mind the new Adidas jerseys but I do wish the orange would be a shade darker. Wonder if Dooley will take this up with our Adidas reps?

DP has said that the color of the new jerseys is actually UT's color and that in previous years the jersey was slightly darker than the correct color

The tech fit jerseys looked quite orange the two times I saw them in person and the one time I saw them on TV.

When you compare them to the orange on the helmet the stripes on the helmet almost look burnt orange. Maybe they are the problem then.

I'm with the OP. Too light. Hard to read the numbers against that particular shade in the day time.

I think DeerPark mentioned that Dooley said something to Adidas about it. That could have been a result of regular, darker jerseys up until the Bama game when they debuted the brighter tech fit jersey.

This is a good point. The orange on the helmet, under certain lighting conditions, looks different than the jersey.

If the helmet doesn't have the appropriate "daisy" hue, I imagine that it wouldn't be a difficult fix.

This is the correct orange, it is very bright, just like the daisy. Sometimes on TV and in print it can appear darker or lighter depending on lighting, time of day, fabric, TV, etc. This is true with all colors but especially bright colors. Watch the Music City Bowl game and you will see that North Carolina's helmets appear darker than the jerseys. Even dull colors like bama appear to have darker helmets sometimes. Then you can watch a day game and both teams appear to have the same color helmets and jerseys. Our color is def suppposed to be the brighter version though.

The helmets do appear dark sometimes.

You would think but it seems to me that it's more of a material issue. The orange on the helmet, like the old jerseys, shined a bit more which made the color inconsistent. The new jerseys don't seem to shine as much which makes the color more consistent through out the jersey.

Yeah, but it seems like the jerseys are more on par with the official color now. If CDD had a problem with the jerseys and helmets not matching up, you would think they could get a lighter/daisy orange sticker set for the helmets.

The stripe down the middle is a sticker. I'm just assuming that the Power T is a sticker as well.

Dooley has had MULTIPLE conversations with them about this

In this pic you can see they look the same. They will hardly ever be exact because of lighting and the material issue.

I would rather have black jerseys. Can we get some of those?

Or throwback jerseys, preferably for the basketball team.

They're supposedly 30% lighter too making the players a little faster

Actually, it is hard to get a tape that looks the same as the organic color orange that is reproduced in fabric for our jerseys. We have had that problem since Doug Dickey put the T on the helmets. The two substances reflect the color differently.

Tennessee's orange is PMS 151. The color just looks different on grass and other materials it's applied to.
