Three league opponents now possess a combined 129 points against Sunseri's porous defense, as well as 1,560 yards and 66 first downs. All last season, SEC foes can point merely to 223 points and 2,850 total yards. The current pace is 4,160 yards and 344 points.

Terrible hire by CDD and may be the nail in his coffin.

It depends. Can we agree that we should look for other identical threads before starting a new one?

The D is so bad at times I can't tell if it's poor schemes or lack of talent or the untimely combo of both. At least Sal appears to have the capacity to adjust to at least stop the bleeding.

Pre-season had a lot of "transition" talk about how the 3-4 defense would be mixed into the scheme. By the first game, it seems that all thought of anything but a 3-4 was dismissed. The personnel for a 3-4 are not on campus -- at least not in a playable form. It seems that the fan base, perhaps the head coach, and others were snookered into believing the "transition" story. It was a step change and has not worked out.

Wait, isn't this year 0 for Sal?

I'm Kidding. As much as we are in a 4 man front, there is no excuse for players being lost all game, every game.

The 3-4 defense is what we are running, and yet watching the game last night, didn't we have 4 or 5 men on the line most of the game????????????

Me don't get it much??

Yeah. I like Sal because he reminds me of a mobster, but that's about the only quality he seems to possess as far as intimidation. His defense certainly is not intimidating to anybody. Any opposing QB looks at the UT game on their schedule as the day they begin their Heisman campaign. Opposing running backs look at it as a chance to get their draft stock up. I'm completely done with this experiment. End it now and look to the future.

That's because last night we ran a 4-3 most of the game They are desperate and will try anything at this point. Problem is ,coaching stinks.

Reminds me of Fulmer hiring Clawson. Was the nail in his coffin as our offense was as bad then as our defense is now. The more I think about it the more sick I get,,

Was Clawson the nail in coffin or was it Fulmer hiring a spread guy to be OC then not allow him to do his thing?

The db's do not have the speed Sal needs back there.

How fast do players need to be to line up properly and make the right reads? A good D coordinator could take what we have and at least be servicable. Sal ain't the answer regardles of how much talent we have.

Who buys the Sal was not a Dooley hire, but rather a Hart hire?

Im not sure why Hart would put himself in that situation where that card could be played against him.

I always thought he took a shot at Sal because he felt he was gonna get 2 more years no matter what. Past that he jumped off the cliff if he didn't feel that way and just made a dumb move.

Sal is over rated (Saban is master of Bama defense) & over weight. Terrible hire with no coordinator experience and probably a Dave Hart hire truth be known. Three recruiting classes should be enough for talent. And for adjustments, they usually don't happen until 30 points are on board. Sal is not a solution.

As posted above

I think PF felt he had more than one year to make that work. He didn't either.

I'm OK with Sal hanging around. He hasn't been given time to truly pan out or not. He doesn't necessarily have the players he wants to run his 3-4 scheme. That being said, why did we hire him? It only makes sense if we hired him for 2-3 years from now, when Dooley is gone.

Sal has coached our players retarded....I have never seen a defense get worse and dumb themselves down as the season went on.
