If we get the defense better, we are a really good team. Keeping dooley is our best shot to be good next year.
Well, that didn't go over well.........applying logic to some of the posters is like pissing on their backs and say its raining...........they don't get it, never will, don't want to, and if they didn't have something to whine about, they might turn their pathetic views of a team they claim to love.........love/hate?.......who know with these yahoos.......I wonder what it is like to live and work around these negative nancies. If Hart takes any of the negative post as any weight to the future of CDD, then he should be fired. The majority of these post are pointless and full of dribble.
VFL.........Go Vols.........go CDD!
I can see the argument of the team's talent versus the team's production.
If Bobby Petrino (I don't like the guy, but just making a point about his coaching ability) had this group of players... we'd have won 3 out of 4.
From a potential standpoint: Bray/Patterson/Hunter. Huge potential between those 3.
From an actual production standpoint: OL/Rivera.
If we had a better Offensive staff with even a mediocre defense we would absolutely have won 3 of those 4 games. Hell, even with bad coaching we almost won 3.
You can't look at UT and say "those coaches are getting the most out of their talent" like you can say with both aTm and MSU.
Let me repeat, I am all four a major upgrade. However, I don't want an unproven replacement who isn't going to bring in top five classes every year in recruiting. If Thunder and Haslam are willing to spend Saban type money to make this happen. I am all for it. If not, keep Dooley. If Hart was the major reason Sal was hired!
If the D wasn't one of the worst in the country. This team would be 6-2, 7-1. As stated, if the move to get Sal was primarily on Hart instead of Dooley. Hart should be gone for not letting Dooley bring in a proved DC!

Most of us rant and rave good and bad with emotion. How about a logical approach to all of this? Anyone that has coached for years will understand and should agree.
Unless a proven Head Coach with very probable potential to be a top 5-10 recruiter every year can be hired. In my opinion, Dooley should stay.
Before you thrash me and say how ignorant I am. Please consider some info and be logical. Anyone that is a head coach understands it starts and stops with the head coach. However, you are only as good as your assistants and players!
After watching Dooley's press conference from yesterday. Either Dooley knows is fate is sealed. He is hurting so badly because he knows this team should have turned the corner and won 3 of 4 versus UF, UGA, MSU, and USC. Or, he is emotional about both. He is a person of high character who is passionate about UT, his assistants, and his players!
He didn't throw one single player under the bus yesterday. Instead, he talked about Tiny and others playing their hearts out. He didn't throw Sal and the secondary coach under the bus. Although, he should have.
If Hart was more of the reason Sal was hired, fire Hart. Dooley should get one more year. If Dooley was the primary reason Sal was hired. Dooley took a gamble on an unproven DC and sealed his own fate.
However, Dooley is responsible for the defensive side of the ball and appears to have worked primarily with the offense and special teams.
For years I heard that problems were caused by Majors or Fulmer because they micromanaged their staff. Well, when your team is not performing to their ability. The Head Coach should micromanage their staff to make improvement. If Dooley can't make changes to the D whether Sal likes it or not. Dooley should go whether Hart was the primary reason Sal was hired.
The records show the Vols haven't lost many November games. Hopefully, the team will ignore social media and focus on winning out . :twocents:
