Per Bruce Feldman twitter:

Draft picks by conference: SEC, 49; Big Ten, 34; ACC, 31; Big 12, 30; & Pac-10, 29. 4 drafts in a row SEC has led or tied for most picks.

Not to throw a damp towel on this but...

The National Football Post reports according to a league source with knowledge of the situation in Oakland, Raiders QB JaMarcus Russell has beefed up to 300 pounds. The former LSU star isn't getting good advice from his family. "It's a drag on the kid and they encourage his poor lifestyle," an NFL source said. Russell receives strong, positive support from his mother and grandmother. He has a tattoo of both women on his arm.

Outside USC, the PAC 10 just doesn't have a whole lot of recent accomplishments.

Cal has more players in the nfl than every SEC team but Tenn, Florida, and LSU. and we aren't talking about national championships we are talking about the "best talent."

Assuming Cal is second in the conference in NFL players, that's still only 4th in the SEC. And they're going to be passed up soon.

Just goes to show that talent is wasted at Cal. When is the last time you even stiffed a BCS bowl game?

2004 we were screwed out of it due to mack brown complaining to the media, in 2006 we were one BS desean jackson TD called back in the final seconds at arizona from winning hte pac-10 outright. but i'd agree tedford has wasted a lot of talent.

This. ^^^

'04 was a bad year for the BCS. Aside from the Auburn debacle, the other big thing that got over shadowed was that Aaron Rodgers Cal squad that got left out of the BCS at the expense of Muck Brown complaining his way into it. Yeah, Cal went on to lose to TTU in the Holiday Bowl (I think?) but that has nothing to do with them getting left out.

Anyways, this thread is kind of a bore. Some interesting stats, I suppose, but the bottom line is the SEC is a bit better than everybody else, SEC fans uselessly drivel on about how southern football is the greatest thing since sliced bread, and the world keeps turning.
