Can the Vols win the SEC East in 2016

I'll make no predictions, period. Especially regarding the Florida game. You could say I suffer from a mild case of BVS.

My BVS has been 95% cured, EXCEPT for in regards to UF. At this point, that game is a definite L until proven otherwise.

Got to beat Florida. They will be without Will Grier in our game and it's in Neyland. We need to beat them. We lose and we don't get it just like this year. That game hurt us going intone Arky game as well.

Expectations will probably be through the roof in 2016 and one has to wonder if the Vols can finally overcome Florida and win the east next year?
The Vols should be very expierienced and have decent depth having faced the competition they did this year.

Thanks for posting this. I had previously seen no discussion of this at all.

If and buts were candy and nuts, what a Merry Christmas it would be! too many things can go wrong in a season. Does UT have the talent..........yes, are the coaches good enough to get UT there..........yes. Hey, no one in the SEC is flawless in calling a game or playing in it..........I can go over all the Power 5 Teams and show some very questionable play calls and I could point toward injuries and off the field issues etc. etc. Do I think Jones likes to sit on a lead........yes. He will learn that a 3 score cushion in the SEC is not enough, I think that "killer instinct" is not in his nature.

Go Vols!

Based on the level of recruiting the last for years, the attrition and the strength of schedule, Florida and Georgia are still more likely to win the East. Now if you want to go on speculation it could be any of the three.

We were a six inch missed FG away this year.

I fully expect the Vols to play in Atlanta in early December 2016.

So the question is CAN we win the East in 2016? The only rational, logical answer is yes. Any other answer is absurdly fallacious.

The great thing from now on is they can win anything. As bad as the oline was last year I didn't think we had a shot at our big games this year but they improved and we were competitive in all our games. I feel this staff has been good at identifying our weaknesses and working on them and also at identifying talent and then recruiting it. Also I think they are doing a good job of teaching these players how to have a winning attitude and work ethic. With another class and off season I feel like we're gonna be in good shape.

Having said that the other teams are coaching and recruiting and football is a funny game with all kinds of twists and turns. We can win anything but that doesn't mean we will. There is no guaranteed success. We as a fan base should stay as positive as we can and enjoy the ride (it'll probably be a roller coaster).

Treon Harris isn't beating this D next year. Lucky with Grier this year. I think that McElwain is being caught up to with the tape on FL...they aren't getting better as the season progresses.

Not with losses to Florida, Bama, A&M.

Pick your poison. Gotta beat 2 of those 3 to even dream about Atlanta.

It would be nice, but I can't see it.

It doesnt matter what you can see. Its a simple question with a simple answer. Can the Vols win the East in 2016? Yes is the only answer.

Tennessee should win the east and will probably be the preseason pick to win. But we will see how much the STAFF matures between now and then.

So what happens if the Vols don't win the East next year? Everything still just peachy and we're all supposed to just be happy that the Vols play football 13 times a year?
