Can the Vols win the SEC East in 2016

Expectations will probably be through the roof in 2016 and one has to wonder if the Vols can finally overcome Florida and win the east next year?
The Vols should be very expierienced and have decent depth having faced the competition they did this year.

If we beat Florida and Georgia I don't see how we couldn't. If we can somehow become more explosive on offense and our defense stays solid, I don't see how we won't be a top 5 team in '16

You're asking the wrong question. The real question is after UF beats us, can they end up with 2 SEC losses while we win out. So to analyze:

UF: Arkansas, UK, Mizzou, LSU, UGA, Vandy, SC

UT: still play Bama

I say no.

The Oline should be improved, I would think and it will have to be to win the east. Will the secondary be better or will the loss of Randolph and McNeil be hard to replace, a wash?

Well, UF was predicted by the writers to finish 5th in the East this season.

Anything is possible but you've got to put away teams when you have them down.

Tennessee can only win the east if two things happen: Throw away the super conservative play book and (2) put in an accurate passer. That also assumes the O line will be improved.

Or develop the already pretty good QB we have. And the line already has improved.

We should have won it this year so we should have a good chance to do it next year. Florida is the big question mark. I think we finally find a way to beat Florida and break the streak. Of course I've believed we would beat them the last 4 years, too.

We will win the mytical off season National Fan Talking Smack Championship again after winning five straight games against teams with a combined SEC record of 7-24 (18-37 overall) to close the 2015 season.

If by some miracle Sutton (not likely) and JRM stay then we have a very good shot at winning the East. I personally think Florida will actually take a step back next year.

We definitely can. We could have this year. I think that if we can beat UF, we will. Like this year, the winner of that game will win the east. Unfortunately, I've seen us find ways to lose too many times now in that series to truly get my hopes up for next year's game.

I'll make no predictions, period. Especially regarding the Florida game. You could say I suffer from a mild case of BVS.

We have the talent to take another step. But this team is not playing at a level to convince me the next step is the East. Moreover this staff has not proven they can coach at the next level. Don't want to beat a dead horse, but if same çoaches are calling the plays next season, then we will lose more games we could/would/should win.
