Whoa, you're generalizing, chief. Maybe Vandy grads with law degrees are considered a higher form of life in the Real World, but not engineers.

As a UT grad with an engineering degree in the oil business for 30 years, I can say that Vanderbilt enginners were never thought to have a higher standing in the companies I worked for. After a few years, your performance is the primary factor in promotions, anyway.
