Can Pruitt hold on to all these recruits till Dec.

Regarding the current recruiting rankings;

Bama damn sure won’t finish 57th, Oklahoma won’t finish 47th, Auburn won’t finish 48th, Florida State won’t finish 41st, Oregon won’t finish 24th, LSU/Georgia/TAM/Texas likely won’t finish outside the top 15.

With so many heavyweights seemingly biding their time, there will be a ton of shuffling. Unfortunately, everyone's current commit list is ripe for picking with Saban and Bama sitting out there with only 3 current commits and a smirk on their face.

Nonetheless, I like Tennessee’s approach. There’s no biding time or waiting to see how everything shakes out, it’s all offense, all momentum, pedal mashed to the floor right now. It’s worked and I think it’s smart. But I also think the commit lists for everyone will be more erratic than ever this year with everything being so condensed and unique.

I also think more kids may wind up staying closer to home this year than normal, if the virus issues are still front and center in a big way.

A rational, well thought out post. Another example of a decent opposing fan post. While I hate the Gators as all good Vols must, I find their fans generally OK, especially the serious fans. Much like lifelong Bammers (not bandwagon).

And another proof point of just how obnoxious and needy uga fans generally are. Can you EVER picture a uga fan posting that?

Thanks man, appreciate it. Everyone loves me here, especially Behr. 😊

And yes, wholeheartedly agree on Georgia fans. They’ve had their cute little 3-year mini-run. Time for Florida and/or Tennessee to put them back in their place.

Good lord can we not move past this need to be a battered Vol?

For heavens sake. Good things are happening kids are openly recruiting for Tennessee.

Hell just Yesterday Brooks answered the question out of all the schools where would you go: Tennessee.
like that means anything... lol. If he were committed to us and didn't say Tennessee that would be stupid.

My post is not intended to be a downer at all. As I said, I believe it will be a great class, just with some changes. Just posting a realistic question for discussion. Monitor, delete this if all its going to get is negative responses attacking me.
We lose a few & will gain a few we didn’t expect to get. It happens every year.

I think we may hold on to the big names at the top depending upon how we start the season, we can illafford another start like last year... However if we start out strong with a win or hard fought game against OU, beat 2 out of the big 3, Fla, UGA, and bama. My bet is we hold on to most if not all.
See possibly beating FA, not UGA or Bama. Although GA & AL both starting new QBs.

Thanks for having some common sense.

As the OP to this thread just wanted to say from reading all the replies I certainly got the discussion I asked for just not how I was expecting it to go, ha ha. I see now how my post came across as being negative and a downer. I am not either one but didn't think that one thru all the way. All in good fun in these boring times.

My favorite response was the post that I must be a person that wears a mask while driving, ha. Good one.

Your original post had 20 posters liking your favorite response. Let me explain two things to you.

1) You now have a working list of goons.
2) You are being purposefully "triangulated" i.e. where posters form friendships then decide who they want to bully.

Here's the positive. You have a working understanding of goons and bullies and preliminary list of, oh, 30 or so, who have limited teeth and live to post to VN. Learning can be fun, yes?

Serious question: How does it work from the staff's end to "recruit over" a player? Does the old recruit literally just get told that he's dropped?

In which case, it seems like the verbals have no real teeth - both the players and the program can continue to shop around. Does a recruit ever try to sign on ESD and get told to wait?

Its funny that up until 2017 I never had an issue with Georgia. I always liked Mark Richt and their fans didn't seem bad at all to me.

But now its like they invented football and are experts on everything football. It cracks me up that because of the teams success, all of a sudden they think they need to come here and share their knowledge and tell us what we need to do to improve. Smh.

No kidding, dude. I've never had a problem with Georgia fans, really. But lately they seem insufferable. And don't get me started on Uncle Lou...

Tell us more about the 30 or so who live to post on here or the ones with limited teeth.

I will say the Vol program has recovered from the disaster of the Schiano debacle. Many thought that whole thing a death blow for at least 10-15 years...yet here we are again. Gotta give Fulmer credit.
