Obviously Tennessee will need freshmen to step up this year, any particular ones that you see making heavy (much needed) contributions?

Hopefully Eric Berry. We need him to develop quickly, and it is obvious that the talent (and then some) is there.

My hope is the following five contribute:

1. Eric Berry- Need his help at CB
2. Brent Vinson- Same at WR
3. Ben Martin- Depth at DE and experience for next season
4. Darnius Moore- I'd like to see this speedster become a return dynamo
5. Chris Donald- I'm just anxious to see him play

I read yesterday where Mike Griffith said that Brent Vinson was the best freshman prospect since Kelley Washington. If you think about it that is probably true for the WR position. If he is as atheletic and fast as we have all read then he should play early and often. We really need Berryto play alot. With his size, speed, and all around ability he can really take an opponents receiver out of the game.

man I sure hope so, but it's really hard for any freshman to come in, at any level, and make a huge impact. It has happened, but it's rare

They'll slip some pads on this weekend. Talk will thankfully be over, and we can start to learn a few answers. Try to keep your expectations in check though.

Just a little while longer....

BJ Coleman will never be close to Peyton Manning.

I see his point because none of us know the future, it's just an educated guess. In this case however it seems to be an uneducated guess.

No way in one class do all those guys turn out be on par with all time UT greats.

A) It's far worse.

B) I didn't predict an SEC title.

c) I thought you didn't care about football?

Did I say you specifically? No. But I just find it amusing when I see people say a 13-1 or a 12-2 type season with all of our current question marks. Because even if we do make it to Atlanta, we would get demolished against LSU. It would be the third consecutive title game that Phil has failed to bring the trophy home.

Upsets NEVER happen in SEC title games.

You quoted me, and said "Some of you blah blah blah." Guess what, you're also a part of VN, so the addition of "you" in your message implies I'm in that group. Anyway, you don't care about football, so stick to basketball.

Vinson just better not nickname himself "The Future" :ermm:

Would it be unfair to expect that Vinson can do for the Vols this year what Harvin did for the Gators last year?

I think it would. Harvin is a rare talent- and we all know his performance as a freshman was outstanding. That being said, it's definitely not out of the question. Vinson could be a baller. But a season like Harvin's- doubtful.

I think Vinson, Berry are def. gonna have to contribute this year..Along with couple other WRs. Hopefully G Jones and Paige and O'Neal

If we find ourselves in Atlanta, it will be because we've answered many of the questions that we have today and somebody did step into those holes. If we get that far, we will meet one of the few coaches in the SEC who can't outcoach our guy. Toss-up if we get there.
