Can our QB Jones play like the Houston QB Ward

After Dobbs it should be Gaurantano, or it should be Jones. Dormady doesnt fit our offense very well. Great passer but not a great runner.

If our offense had a great passer, it wouldn't need a great runner IMO. Cuts both ways.

I love how people act like they know anything about Jones, Dormady, Guarantano etc..

unless you get to watch practice everyday or get to see them in live, meaningful action against an SEC team, stop acting like you know what these kids bring to the table

We have no idea how good they are, and who is better than the other. And please don't talk about high school highlight film....please

Jones is barely faster than Dormady.

But he's a wizard and very effective running with the football.

Would the exit of a qb be as likely, at the crimson tribe or the oreo state, to skip out from those big time programs? Probably not. Would Jones bail from the next "IT" program in college football because of top-tier competition? Doubtful. Those who'd jump ship due to such potent competition oughta' go anyhow. I say he sticks around and makes a grand contribution to CFB's newest juggernaut of a team...regardless of in what position he does it.

Although we're fans, it doesn't have to be all about UT for every kid. He has his own life to think about and if he believes his future is at QB then he needs to be at the place where he has s chance to showcase his talent. We shouldn't expect him to discard his dreams in sacrifice to the greater good of UT Football. Nathan Peterman is having a fine season at Pitt and it looks like that was a great decision on his part. These kids' lives will go on after a brief 4 year CFB stint and they need to do what's best for them...not us. To think otherwise is selfish.

....plus, who says he can't win the job or have to step in bc of injury. Not to mention JG or Hunter aren't even on campus yet. Not counting those chickens until they hatch.

I remember hearing that Sheriron Jones does not shy away from and even enjoys competition while we pursuing him. He knew what he was walking into when he signed with us. This kid could very well win the starting job when Dobbs leaves...hes a very well-rounded qb that has the legs and the arm to succeed in this offense.
