Florida was a test for the day that we played them and I don't think anyone was saying that'd be our ONLY test.

We played Georgia and barely beat them in the last 4 seconds. That's not a great win it was a miraculous win.

I'm giving team 120 the credit they deserve for now. If they clean up their performance for the full 60 minutes and/or they somehow manage to beat both TAMU and Bama then they'll get even more credit from me. Until then I'm not taking any game for granted just because we've managed to win 5 in a row.

Respect OPs take. But fwiw I think the narrative has been slightly different. Lots of preseason hype. App State gave us a ton of trouble for what many picked to win the east. Then media said well they were maybe just overlooking App State and looking ahead to V Tech but App State is a decent team. Then I feel like we got credibility back after V Tech because we showed up prepped and beat them handily. Then we had Ohio and we didn't blow them out and they're really not a very good team. We got the benefit of the doubt a bit because Florida was next. Then we almost goose egged against Florida first half and I think everyone kind of gave up on making excuses.

Then once we came out and beat the tar out of Florida second half, the narrative became we are a second half team. Although I think we did have a better start versus Georgia, who came out amped, I think media loves patterns to point out. Kind of a symptom of being lazy and just looking at stats rather than watching the actual game. Plus patterns make for a story. So that narrative has continued.

I agree with OP that we are ruining our opponents seasons but doesn't necessarily mean they're bad teams. The senior laden Florida defense has essentially no holes and we completely exploited it. Georgia I thought came out and put together a completely balanced offense which I haven't seen them do yet. They're not a bad team but I did think we'd do better against them than we did.

I think unfortunately for us, even if we beat TAMU who they say we now cannot beat and everyone thinks is for real, people are going to come out and say TAMU was a fraud, was never good to begin with. The old--they always start out well then flop scenario. TAMU is a good football team and will still be a good football team if we beat them. Just don't count on anyone to give us much credit unless we absolutely demolish them.

If we beat the tide, however, I think people will finally respect us and say we beat a great team. Even if looking at them they don't look as talented as Florida or as complete as TAMU, in my opinion. That's just the perception we're dealing with when the media gets a narrative going they like and think tells a good story.

I have said it since before the Fla game. If we beat Florida I back CBJ 100% from here on out. I haven't always backed Butch because I think a lot of it was hangover from Dooley and Kiff. I always wanted Butch to be the guy but there have been some situations that have raised some red flags. Since about UGA last year CBJ has really come in to his own as a coach. You would be hard pressed to find a whole lot wrong that he has done. I said "I will be a 100% believer in CBJ if we end the streak." And we did. That means I am a CBJ sunshine pumper until further notice. As far as the team goes I will always be 100% supportive of them. Now on to this weeks game. Do I think it's going to be a tough game? Yes. Do I think A&M is good? Yes. Do I think we could lose this game? Absolutely. Will we lose? I won't doubt a single game until proven otherwise. The cardiac vols have yet to be denied. What's scary is that they have yet to play a full game. They are bound to play a full one at some point. This team is special. No doubt about it.

I don't put much stock in to their close score against SC. They won by more than a td on the road without Garrett, Noil, and Seals-Jones. They are a good team and if we manage to win I can't imagine anyone downplaying it. But it is Volnation so...

Agreed. And UT put up about 80 points on the two of them in 5 quarters. I really hope we play 4 quarters of good football this Saturday. If so, I think UT has a great chance of winning.

Don't completely disagree w/ the first point...TAMU appears very solid this year, and bama is bama.

As to the second point...barely losing to UGA first 2 years = our coach is garbage....you validated his point.

IF, and that is a big if, we go into College Station and win this Saturday, there will be a very small number of people, if any, that are claiming TAMU is overrated.

Any excuses to lessen our wins against UF and UGA are ridiculous, but at the same time, TAMU will be the first complete team we have faced yet. They truly are deserving of their ranking.

Florida has a stellar defense, but it is clear that their offense lacks in a huge way. Shutting that offense down is not as difficult.

UGA has a very talented QB, stellar RB's, and a few good defensive players, but there are some clear holes in many other parts of their depth chart.

TAMU has been elite this season top to bottom in almost all aspects of their game. And they boast an incredible home-field advantage.

I am so proud of Team 120 and all they have accomplished so far, but I feel like a lot of people are just overlooking TAMU who, in my opinion, is the toughest game left on the schedule.
