Can Heupel retrain JoeMilton to NOT make his throw decision BEFORE the snap?.

Peyton also had a ridiculously good ability of reading the defense before the snap.

How to read a defense pre-snap:

1. Look down and see the color of your jersey.
2. Look up and determine who on the field is not wearing that same color.
3. Don’t, I repeat, don’t throw the ball to the guys in the different color jerseys.

I apparently missed my calling.

I mean, you want pre snap reads right?

If you want an agenda against Milton, it's prolly that his touch needed some improvement. All the practice vids said he was working on just that. Not sure I see another flaw.

Heard an interesting commentary - the gist was that the Michigan O had the QB making far more reads and decisions than what Heuple’s O requires and that Milton was a better fit here in this O than at Michigan. Of course that’s just a talking head on ESPN but I do know the system is important.

we’ll see in about 30 minutes.

So basically Milton doesn’t need to do what JG did for 3-4 years….

Gotta say that first long pass he laid out in front of the receiver was beautiful.Needs to work on touch, but I see what most were saying kids got killer intangibles.Really looking forward to seeing his progress, and the teams this year.

Over throws, dropped passes, receivers not getting open….not feeling great about this effort.

This fan base is sick of this **** football. No excuse for 8 yards in the second quarter in Mr. Offense’s system. None.
Blame a lot of that on the defense. We had only two drives (right?), one with a holding penalty and the other one where Hyatt dropped a pass right in his hands.

Poor decisions. Holding on to the ball too long. Can't run against a team with historically bad rushing defense. We were fools for believing.

Michigan fans are smarter than us.

Question, what about this particular analyst and/or their qualifications, makes you believe their 2nd-hand evaluation of Milton while he was at Michigan, over that of the the 1st-hand evaluations of the UT coaching staff whom have been working with Milton since April?
Sounds like this analyst and OP was on point

More like, can someone tell Milton he doesn't have to count to 100 in his head before he throws the ball

To me it appeared that Milton was either overthinking things or he was not able to see the whole field quickly. There were a number of times where guys came open and he did not throw it or he would deliver the ball a little too late in the route. I am hoping he was just trying too hard to avoid TOs and/or make sure he looked at all his options before throwing. If so, this can be improved with coaching and more confidence.
