Can Georgia end up in BCS Championhip game?

I am as strong a supporter of Phil and company as any, but to say we deserve to go to the National Championship game with a win over LSU is a bit sketchy, we haven't been playing like National Champs lately.

I see what you're saying but have a hard time with a team that couldn't win their 6-team division playing for the NC. Kinda throws all of that "the regular season is a playoff" talk right out the window.

An SEC champ should always be more deserving than the 2nd place SECe team.

I just don't think a team should ever win a NC without winning their conference.......unless you have a playoff like basketball. Then you would see top ranked teams opt out of playing their conference championship game.

USC got beat without their starting quarterback, and over the course of the season, teams can begin to gel better. Richt has Georgia fired up, something they weren't against us or South Carolina.

If UGA couldn't get "fired up" enough to beat UT or a terrible South Carolina team, that's their problem. Better hire a full-time motivational speaker for next year. Sorry Bulldogs, your NC dreams ended in Knoxville many weeks ago.

UT blew out georgia and would do it again today. GA has beat 1 good team: florida, and they did that when Tebow was hurt and they had other injuries. Tennessee is the best team in the SEC.

Name a team that is more worthy.

All those teams are worthy to me to be Nat'l Champs.

Im just saying all your gonna hear from SEC and Pac-10 elitist is that none of those teams had to play anybody ,so therefore they're not gonna be respected by quite a few idiots which make up the college football fanbase. A playoff (which I know will never happen in my lifetime) is just a pipedream of mine that would shut up alot of the bickering

Im sure the winning school doesnt give a $&!* about what the critics say, and neither do I.

In addition to UF, they beat Auburn, Bama and GaTech. The stars lined up perfectly for UTK when they played the Dawgs. My guess is that if that game were played 10 times UGA would win 7-8 of them. If not how do you explain the fact that UGA beat the two SEC teams that thumped the Vols?

it would seem a little shady that a team that can't even win it's own division in their conference could win the whole NC, that's why they need to add some sort of clause to the rules for the NC game that you must be a conference champion in order to be eligible for the game. and if they do sneak in, i'll like the dawgs chances against an OSU team that isn't nearly as good as they were a year ago, and we saw what happened when they went up against quality SEC talent, it wasn't a contest then, and it wouldn't be this time.

If you believe Georgia would beat us 8 out of 10 times, it sure doesn't look good for us the next 8 years. :)

The thought of Ga in the title game, after they were blown out by UT and lost to a bad south carolina team, makes me physically ill.

You harp on UF & bammer games as a key indicator this season but totally discount a very good win by the Vols. I guess I shouldn't be surprised anymore.

The only stars that aligned perfectly was Richt's inability to get his team prepared for an SEC game.

How do you explain thinking that they would beat us 7 out of 8 times after watching us blow them out 2 years in a row?

Poor logic. UT beat Georgia and South Carolina. It's a mixed up conference and I've seen Georgia play. They ain't that good and are by no means worthy of being #4 in the nation. Not even close.

I have a real problem with those who seem to fall into that "they've stepped it up late in the year" bit. It's the same poor logic that tries to say "The wrong team won the KY game". Well no the wrong team didn't. The team that scored the most points won the game which is as it should be. Fact #1: football season doesn't start in November when a few teams seem to "find themselves" so your team needs to be good all year. Fact #2: Games last four quarters. So if you get blown out for a whole half and then can't quite come back enough to win, you don't deserve to win. Simple as that.

Yes Georgia could get to the championship. It would be ridiculous having not won their conference but it can happen. Another reason for a playoff system. The BCS just don't cut it.

If lsu beats UT, they should be in the title game ahead of georgia, if WVU or Missouri lose.
