Can Georgia end up in BCS Championhip game?

With Georgia being 4th in BCS poll, it is possible they could climb to number 2. But, w/o winning the SEC, would the BCS permit them to go to the championship game if WV and Missouri lose?

I believe OU got in that exact same way(w/o having to play in the Big XII title game) in '01 maybe??

No UGA can not go.

WVU is a lock.

If Mizzou loses to OU then, ugh, hold your nose, the Buckeyes are in. :sick:

OU lost in the Big 12 championship game and still went to the NC game. Probably deservedly so that year, but then they lost in the NC game

WVU is not a lock - they still have one game left against Pittsburgh if I'm not mistaken. The way this season has gone I would say that UGA has a decent chance at making the title game with a WVU loss and a Mizzou loss.

Also, Oklahoma lost their championship game to Kansas State and still got to go the NC game.

merge this thread, but a WVU loss to Pitt can happen. WVU is nowhere near a lock. Especially with everything else that has happened this season

I don't think the Dawgs will end up in the Championship game no matter what happens.....If WVU gets beat & Oklahoma beats Missouri i think Ohio St. would go & i think Oklahoma may jump over the Dawgs!

Georgia does not deserve to go.....no way

I have seen them play....They had their chance & got beat by a bad south carolina team & spanked by the VOLS.....They do not Deserve to go....USC got beat by a Pitiful Stanford team & have lost 2 games as well,they don't Deserve to go either....If the Vols win saturday against LSU They Deserve to go more than the Dawgs....after all if the vols win they will be SEC champs & deserve it so much more the the Dawgs!

Georgia had to kick a last second feild goal to beat Vandy & they didn't just walk all over KY either,They lost to South Carolina & got Blew out by the Vols 35-14....they don't Deserve it

We have three losses, got murdered by bad Bama and Cal teams, and got beat by 39 to UF. We dont deserve anything more than they do.

Thats right....none of them 3 are being discussed about going the game.....Don't know why you are so in love with the OVERATED Dawgs....They Don't Deserve it 1 bit!

GA may not deserve it but it doesnt really matter. with the BCS its more of a what have you done for me latley kind of thing. GA has done well latley. In some ways its better not to play in the championship game. If you lose that game you are punished.
Its possible georgia does get in. Its not likely but its certinaly possible.

Its not gonna matter though because Mizzou & WVU are gonna roll next weekend.

I heard on a national radio show that a team that doesnt win their conference Championship cant play in the BCS title game. Now I searched all over the internet and couldnt find anything confirming that.

Georgia sucks & if they do play OSU I hope they lose by 30

I doubt LSU would jump GA. It seems like thats what should happen but its likely it wont. We have been winning and that actually helps GA. It improves their strength of schedule. KY and ark doesnt improve lsu strength of schedule.

I dont think winning or not winning your conference necessarily means anything. I believe they are other teams that have done it. Then there is also ND who is not in any conference.

OSU isnt that great either. It wont matter though if either missouri or west virgina win.

Well Georgia would have a loss to Tennessee and LSU would have a victory over UT, that probaly would put them over the top. The only thing I know is a 16 team playoff would be Godly and a lot less confusing

Yeah, we really need Clemson, Boston College, and Virginia Tech to have a shot at the title. Those teams are all super-worthy. Oh my goodness, it is a travesty that Illinois doesn't get a chance to bring home the bacon.

I dont know about you KPT, but I like to watch football. The more football that is played the better off we (football fans) are.

You actually think America is gonna think WVU, Mizzou, or OSU are worthy of a NC

USC got beat without their starting quarterback, and over the course of the season, teams can begin to gel better. Richt has Georgia fired up, something they weren't against us or South Carolina.

I am as strong a supporter of Phil and company as any, but to say we deserve to go to the National Championship game with a win over LSU is a bit sketchy, we haven't been playing like National Champs lately.
