Can anybody explain the call on that punt?

The ball didn't cross the goal line til the sc player kicked it.

As I stated, he should have just ran down to the ball and touched it. No reason to slide. Refs called it a touchback and replay officials didn't have enough "conclusive evidence" to over turn it.

The ball was downed on the 1 and never crossed the plane. The sequence of events that happened after that is completely irrevelant. Refs got it wrong.

The refs 'confirmed' the call, which means they saw the ball cross the plane when McDowell slide into it before it was kicked. That's the only possibility, though I certainly didn't see it that way.

Ref didn't blow it dead after our first guy touched it and before McDowell hit it. It was still a live ball because the whistle wasn't blown I believe.

Once our guy touched it, it didn't matter what SC did to it. It's only a "muff" situation if the receiving team touches the ball first. The issue is they ruled the ball broke the plane which gave us a touchback. Couldn't really overturn that based off the replays unfortunately.

Simple explanation..... The refs ****ed it up. Ball never broke the plane until the SC player kicked it in.

Exactly right. It appears that the SC player kicked the ball into the end zone, but the replay did not show whether McDowell may have caused the ball to break the plane first. Having a camera going across the goaline would be nice.

The evidence was showed to everybody that watched the replay. How did the officials not have enough evidence to see it?

The replay official is incompetent 3 referees watching the game here said it should be down at the one -- ball never crossed the plane until kicked by the Cock player. We get robbed more times by replay than should be possible. Overturn plays they can't see and confirm plays that were obviously wrong (and opposing fans agreed)
