If they are being abusive and fighting or loosing control of bodily functions, then obviously they need to be escorted out. But sounds like the majority of people here are annoyed by F-bombs, loud talking, being picked on for wearing camouflage and people not sitting down. None of those instances need to involve the cops, imo.

You have just stirred a hornet's nest with that comment. Maybe my parents were just strange people, but they never brought me to situations like Neyland or any other sporting event until I was old enough. The only exception to that was an EWF/Ramsey Lewis/Emotions concert when I was about 4-5 years old. Outside of that, they didn't put me in those environments because I suppose they knew that alcohol, drugs and vulgarities were going to be present. Therefore, they didn't have to worry about ear muffing me whenever an F-bomb dropped or have to explain to me why the lady in front of me is peeing on herself.

Natural selection...collegiate football is a pretty wild affair at times and eliminating the extremes from affecting the masses is a good thing. If you're not smart enough to stay out of trouble at a sporting event you need to reevaluate.

But for example last year against UTC, I got stoned as hell and watched the backups and analyzed the game plan and how the younger players were doing.

If you have never seen the cops abuse their "power" you must be a 40+ year old white man. Spend a little time on youtube to see how the cops really act. We don't need to give them another reason to stop people. Knoxville already has laws in place for PI, and unruly people. Lets just enforce them.
If I want to have a few cold ones, and go to the game that's my right. I have never been kicked out, or even told to calm down by the cops at any game ever. I the innocent don't want to have to worry about getting thrown out, or arrested because of a very small % of people. The cops should just do their jobs, and wait until there is a problem. I WANT MY FREEDOM!:hi:

I've been drunk but had nothing but fun with the folks around me, I still bring my manners. Pretty easy here folks and many of you are making a mountain out of a molehill, this is about common sense. If your f en and cussing every sentence and staggering on top of folks then you deserve to be out. If you cheering and just being a fan even yelling at bad calls that isn't getting you thrown out. If that happens if over the top cops but I have never seen that happen. Fighting or being belligerent with fans or kids is no play for a game. I did say a cuss word one time at a game not super loud but loud enough for the lady and her kid behind me. I looked at both of them and apologized and I turned to the kid and said always respect you parents and try to never use profanity especially in public. All I had said was Dammit but I felt bad at the moment. Yes I had a buzz but I was being beligerent 24-7 either. Any way the parent looked and me and said your okay he has heard worse before and we preceded to have a great night at the stadium.

Most of these write-ups are as much to do about sensationalism as anything, most people handle theirselves fine. Most policeman are fine, but I have run into a few on gameday that act is they are mad at the world. They need to use common sense as well. GO BIG ORANGE!!!!
