Going through the 18 game grind and hoping we stay healthy will be a reach. Barnes may have to do some things from this point forward to save legs. DStone has been playing well when given the opportunity. Would like to see him with more minutes!

I know you love UT and can't fathom this, but these kids have a very small shot at making the league and have to do what they can to maximize their chances of getting there. If Carr thinks he is an NBA talent he isnt going to get there with 8 minutes per game in year 2. Time will tell.

From what I see, Phillips is out-playing Okpara. If Estrella is as good as Phillips, they are both starters next season and Okpara is the odd man out.

Just wait until the SEC and Big 10 get their own organization setup. The NCAA isn’t going to push back on any schools. They’re in danger of losing their billion dollar post season basketball tournament.

I hear what you are saying, but I think the coaching staff intended to give him a prominent role this year and had that in mind when recruiting. It's just that the opportunity to get Chaz Lanier popped up after we signed everyone and he is the typecof player you make room for of he wants to come to your program. When we got him it pushed both Dubar and Carr down a spot.

But also, it could just be that this is Barne's last ditch effort to put together a championship run. You have one last year with the best defensive guard duo in the nation and a great PG. It's better to get the experienced 23 yr old at the detriment of a sophmore, becuase one is more of a certainty to produce while the other one you hope will.

I'm maybe missing something in the rule, but the transfer rule appears to allow a second semester transfer to play immediately. It only states that a player leaves their prior school in good academic standing and not be under any kind of discipline or suspension.

That said, if there is a rule against it, sue and get an injunction. That's how unlimited transfer and immediately eligibility became a new rule. The Courts found that NCAA limiting transfers violated anti-trust laws and they granted immediate eligibility to anyone the NCAA was preventing from playing in every sport.

Even if he could play, what decent team could he go to and get more PT than TN at this point. He would likely have to drop down a level. He would get more exposure off the bench at TN than anywhere else. He could transfer next yr. The med redshirt makes more sense. Still, he’s only a sophomore. Something doesn’t add up.

I think he was supposed to make more than 30% of 3s and play defense. He didn’t do either last year and this year was only off to a good start on 3s on 5 attempts

The corner was 15 minutes a game until Boswell came back? 🤷‍♂️

A lot of us in here see a lot of minutes with not a lot of players. Unless he plans on transferring down below a P4 I don’t see a hugely better situation for him.

He can transfer but he won't be eligible to play for another team this year.

I digress. Be nice if we could find another Vescovi about right now.

This is shocking and maddening at the same time. Was very high on him for his athletic ability and seemed like a smart kid with good family influence. This flies in the face of what I know of him and the influence of CRB and staff.

Feels like something else behind the scenes, I don’t even think this is about being recruited or offered something else at another school. Even the worst of the worst D1 scum coaches wouldn’t advocate for this kind of departure.
