We need some updated calculations after the Rivals rerankings.

What point value will this give us???

Saw on VQ where it's projected that without any changes to other teams rankings, we would be in 16th position. Pretty sure Thunder posted it over there.

Yea I just saw that thread 975 points as long as none of our 3stars get bumps in their respective rankings tomorrow that give them bonus points.

IE Redding getting moved into the top 50 WR's would give him bonus points.

This is from Thunder.

975 would be 16th place assuming no one else changes...which I am sure some will since other players were bumped as well.

16th, same as espn. they still have peterman as a 3. don't know when they update players.

Good grief guys................who cares what a site run by people who have never coached football ranks the kids recruited and committed by guys who get paid alot of money to gauge talent?

Get over this whole class ranking thing.

FWIW not Thunder ,but I just ran the numbers and got 983.2 points. I believe the Rivals rankings are more of a gauge(IE the #6 class won't necessary end up being better than the #15 class) and that we are in a good spot to compete with anyone in the SEC.

Easy for a Gator fan to say, Florida's staff could throw a rock out of their back door and hit a 5* prospect.

It's nothing more than an indicator and despite what anyone says, they are pretty good indicators.

Just look at the last 5 national title winning teams, not exactly sucking it up on the recruiting trail by recruiting site standards.

The flip side of that is it doesn't guarantee a title, or even that you get to play for one.

Help me understand your point about the Gator staff being able to get 5 star players with looking at recruiting rankings.

I'd be willing to bet you these "top programs" you reference, could give 2 rips about what Rivals or Scout ranks a player.

I know...........I have tried on here, and in your defense, several of your other posters agree with me, but alot of Vol posters get turned on when they see a single digit next to your class ranking.

It makes no sense because it doesn't guarantee anything.

The system works more often than not. That doesn't mean it should be 100% relied on. There are exceptions, and there will continue to be exceptions. It's not the rule.

Guys I'm sorry I haven't been able to post as much...my IT departmet has tightened up on personal internet use at work...they've actually blocked Volnation...

That being said...I did post on VQ that we would have 975..that was off a little..we will have 969...Virginia and Texas Tech did not get any bumps so we will pass them and be in 17th place

If it weren't for posters like your brethern 99gator who like to use a lower ranking against us I personally wouldn't care half as much as I do
