It ain't like our 1st team defense was full of upperclassmen, with lots of experience under their belts. Let's be realistic.Dobbs played against the 2nd team defense in the O/W game.
It's time to step up young man. Use this time wisely! Get bigger, stronger, faster. Work on your reads, footwork, and delivery. This team is yours to lead next year!
I liked most of what I saw from the kid last year and I think this year of watching will pay dividends next year. Ready to see a QB scramble for a first on 3rd and 3!
UT is due for clutch QB
Ain't gonna happen. You can already see how resolute CBJ is, in putting the team's fortunes in the hands of the most senior fellow. That is why Worley, who doesn't even fit this offensive system, is given the keys, and Peterman is the next in line in terms of seniority.Nor would I.
Don't fool yourself people. Dobbs lost #2 position due to erratic throwing during summer drills. Peterman was a far better passer - noticeably better than Worley. Worley hung on to the job due to his experience and game management skills.

Exactly what did you see last year that was so encouraging?...What I saw was a kid who was not ready to play in the SEC...Period...The kid can't throw a lick...His first td pass was an interception that the WR took away from the defender...He tried throwing a hail mary at the end of the Vandy game and the ball didn't even travel 50 yards...His running ability is about on par with Worley...Remember this kid is a pro style QB and running is not his best quality...There is a reason he is 3rd string...Peterman or one of the incoming freshmen will be your starter next season IMO.
Please tell me when in the GA game Worley would have been pulled. And the biggest irony here is Fergie Ferg pitched a fit over losing the job to Worley and left.
He would probably have the job now. I firmly believe he would have come in against UGA and done well enough to keep playing. No way he would have done worse against Florida and Ferg could actually run which would bring credence to our no-read option.
I think Dobbs is the by far the best backup we have, period. And he is the best fit for this offense. But, with an OL getting beat on a regular basis, none of our QB's will have a chance to show what they can do. Where I do think Dobbs can help, though, is he can squirm out of a collapsing pocket and make a play with his feet...where Worley and Peterman just take a sack everytime.Burn the redshirt. Put Dobbs in to run a read option on a few plays, maybe throw a bubble screen then take him out. I bet the opposing team doesn't even prepare for a UT running QB. FL had some success changing QB's and we even prepared for FL's backp QB.
Let's play for this season not next.
And the myth of Ferguson the Fabulous lives on.And the biggest irony here is Fergie Ferg pitched a fit over losing the job to Worley and left.

You're kidding, right?
Dobbs wasn't even given any 1st Team drives in the Spring. He's the only competing QB that didn't get a single one.
It was clear from then that the staff was going to RS him come hell or high water.
Dobbs, no matter what he does or did in 2013, will not see the field unless Worley and Peterman both get injured.
Staff is selling this year out to preserve next year. I really do think they'll RS Blair, Dobbs and Scott unless they absolutely need to play them.
As well as Jones has recruited almost every other position, his two biggest busts to date have been Dobbs and Blair. Exactly the two positions at which we are most desperate for help.
Well we have played around 22 of them so I would say MOST of them are not busts and the few who haven't played might be red shirted for depth next year.
I remember a time when we were fresh off a loss to UGA and people were talking about Worley's leadership and how important he is. One week later, here we are. Don't become a prisoner to the moment people, take it week by week.
