Calling DocVol, Spring Bok Vol, and Skeeter!

telling people what is going on/what they're told at the time and comparing that to the end result isn't the best way to view their info

I'm not sure about the other posters mentioned by the OP.

But from what I can gather SBV and Skeeter seem to usually be pretty spot on with the info the give. Yes, they are wrong occasionally. But more often than not they are correct.

I have been fooled so many times by these insiders is all I'm saying. I don't remember them ever being right about anything. Not trying to troll, but just saying what I have observed over the past few years I have been on VN.

You obviously don't follow the recruiting forum very much then.

I can't account for their info about coaching changes and stuff, but I have hardly ever seen false info from them on recruiting.

You forgot about Sabanocchio OCI. :)

I have wondered if OCI was Sabanocchio. OCI hasn't had the know it all tone that Sabanocchio had. After all Sab was an expert in Qb recruitment film because he played Qb in his neighborhood flag football games. Sab actually posted that in the recruiting forum.

There was a deal being worked with Shannon and both parties were involved. All of this, " no contact has been made with RS," or, "UT has no interest in RS," is complete falsification, 100%.

Comments like these are either: A) for one or both parties to save face if negotiations fell through, or B) RS still is going to be the hire and misinformation is being released--which yes, does happen.

Hart and Dooley have been very deliberate in keeping this a mystery. It very well could be someone else; but, I can still see it being RS. This has been played very well.

Im sorry , but picking on the people who normally bring us solid info isnt something I want to do. So what if they miss every now and then, sh*t happens. Skeet, Doc, Oci, etc..... keep the info coming, most of us appreciate it.

If I had something to share I would.

Too much conflicting info. Even from the inside.

So honestly I am just waiting rather than starting a fire every time I hear something.

The Shannon talk last week came in hot and heavy and I felt comfortable posting what I thought was taking place. That ship has clearly sailed IMO.

Dooley is being thorough I can tell you that. :)

Man, my head hasn't hurt this much since I played the game of Clue over Christmas....I guess that it was Colonel Mustard in the Observatory with the Candlestick

Sounds to me, sjt, that CDD and Hart are making things worse on themselves by being so quiet on things. The less said, the more rumors fly. His PC the other day seemed to be about putting out fires, and not about info. I think his attitude towards the media is not good for the program in that they can sometimes make you or break you.

Or vice versa. When this hire is made, a bunch of media idiots are going to have egg all over their faces for jumping the gun on hearsay. Eventually putting out bad info effects their credibility and following. They know that. Their jobs by and large are dependent on reporting good info... of getting "scoops". It appears that Dooley is pretty determined to assure the guys who get "scoops" are the guys who are either positive or at a minimum do not run him and the program down.

I can't tell you why anyone would listen to a thing Hyams has to say even now. When was the last time he was right about anything?

If Dooley/Hart can make it stick then the UT media will begin to see it in their best interests... and their employers' best interests.... to report straight up if not tilted a little to the homer side like Bama, UGA, LSU et al. It is a fairly high stakes game... but some of these media guys could easily lose their jobs as well.

Dooley hasnt spoke to shannon.

You know this is untrue. Unless you are playing the "Dooley did not physically have a face to face conversation with Shannon" card, which doesn't take into account Shannon's reps and the university's. RS was contacted and negotiations took place. The fact that you made this comment leads me to believe that you know much more...

The jury is still out.....until the DC is announced.....someone maybe eating crow with egg on their face......so rant and rave....they told you what they had from relieable sources and you blame them for passing along info....no speculation.....just what they were told....

"Derek is being thorough".....

I like that comment from above. We might could start a thread with that very statement!

I took it as this. Or that Hart has been the one communicating with Shannon.

That is the one thing I don't like about Skeeter's posts. Always very cryptic. :)

UT representatives had talks with Shannon's representatives and/or Shannon himself...my understanding is that the initial mutual interest faded after Shannon's contract demands.

I have tried to explain to the reactionaries here that this is how this is done. It is almost as bad as 3rd grade love affairs. Boy sends friend to talk to girls friend to gauge interest. If there is no interest then as long as the friend is trustworthy.... the boy can deny he was ever really interested. OTOH, the girl doesn't have to say she was turned down either.

Neither side in these things want to seem "interested" because of the bad PR of being turned down.

you mean something might stick every now and then. pretty funny watching homers take these insiders tidbits to the bank and then see the whiff and then act like it never happened. you boys are in politics right?

This type of secrecy has been in place for decades. With modern media we're all given a window seat into the process. So IMO, what appears to be chaotic is really normal.

Team meeting still tonight?

If so they may be introduced to the new coaches.
