Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Would be pretty cool if it's true, but it seems awfully late for a beta to be taking place. By the time it's supposed to start, the release of the game will only be 2 months away. It would seem any valuable info they get from the beta woudn't even be able to make it into the game if it ends only a couple weeks before release.

I would imagine it's more a server end test to see how their farm reacts and what kind of stress the game is causing. But, you gotta remember this is online and while any fixes or updates might not make the disc pressing, it's not uncommon for online updates from day one. And if nothing else, a 2 month head start on fixing things and getting everything in order is better than nothing.

And there's the marketing aspect as well....

I watched XPlay for the first time in months last night & they showed some footage I hadn't seen yet. This game looks a lot better than the first. From the videos I've seen it appears to flow more smoothly than before.....Oh yeah...Calling in a an AC130 Gunship in multiplayer.

Last year while playing this game I said that should be the reward for a 7 kill streak, not the helicopter...me and about 1000000 others, but still

I think it was be nuts.

Why should someone on 7 kill streak be awarded with an even deadlier tool? Wouldn't it be more interesting if the game continually tried to even the odds?

I tend to agree with this logic.

I've heard that after your kill streaks are over you re start even if you're still alive. EX:

3 kills-recon aka radar
5 kills-air strike
7 kills-helicopter/dogs
so on and so on depending on how you set your custom kills thing up.

After your 7 kills if that is the last one, you get 3 more kills you get another recon/radar. 2 more kills, and you get an air strike and so on.

Sounds pretty cool if true.

that would be cool, but i once you got to a certain point that you could pick the kind of weapon you want to use

I hope not, because that could get out of hand. Usually once you got a 7 kill streak and call in a helicopter, that would give you 5-7 more kills. It would get to the point where you could keep calling in air strikes/helicopters over and over.

This is what I didn't like about the first one. once a player/team gets on that kind of roll, there is almost no turning it around.

I prefer the push and pull, ebb and flow type battles like in Battlefield 1943.

that reminds me of shipment on Modern Warfare, seemed everytime one helicopter left, another popped up. still a great map tho

crazy aint it? I always thought they should reward sucky players like myself that use themselves as meatshields to capture the flag instead :)

I agree, the flow of the actionn in battlefield is more enjoyable than the COD style of pinning the opponeñt in and slaughtering them.

Yeah, but with the chopper you could usually just go inside to get to safety, unlike in WaW, where there was no safety from those damn dogs. At least getting gunned down by the chopper's gatling gun is a little realistic, the dogs not so much. I can't tell you how many times in real life I've seen a dog climb 5 or 6 rungs of a ladder, absorb 2 or 3 bullets from a Thompson, and then kill the shooter with one bite. Oh wait, that could NEVER happen.

I'm just glad there is going to be some football to watch, to get my mind off this game until it comes out.

Preordered the expensive one (Name slipping my mind right now)

Don't know why, the Night Vision goggles will probably never work, but i guess i can sell them on ebay to some sucker if they really dont work
