call me whatever, I only see 2 possible losses in 2015

I get what you are saying but the fact is we haven't been there in quite awhile. So, I'm just going to enjoy the first positive feeling of going into the off season in a long time with raised expectations and cautious optimism.

Postitive feeling is great. Cautious optimism is great. Unrealistic expectations not so much.

Until we prove that we can beat Florida I never think of that game as a probable win. We also haven't beaten Missouri since they joined the SEC. Let's pump the brakes a little before we start writing this team in to the SECCG.

Agreed but I sure am enjoying telling the bama guys that I work with that they really let the conference down this year and need to step it up like we did. Lol!

Not sure I agree with 10-2, but it sure is nice to have better expectations than just making a bowl.

I'm thinking 8-4, maybe 9-3 if the o-line improves by a fair margin and we get a couple of breaks.

We are closing the gap between us and the better teams on our schedule... but even when there is no gap wins aren't a given.

Read through all the posts came back to yours> Best post on this thread!!! You are so right. Our expectations should be higher for 2015 then 2014 tempered with realistic enthusiasm. We will have a better record in 2015 but how much better will play out one game at a time. I am excited about Tenn. football!!! I haven't been able to say that in a long time. Can we win every game...sure. Is it realistic right now ...No but it will be an exciting year for sure. Go Vols!!!!!

It's very nice to finally look at the next year's schedule and be able to feel that we at least have a fighting chance in every single game.

Seriously with who we have returning, and our recruits who could make immediate impact. The only 2 possible losses I see are UGA and Bama.. and I say possible because both teams are beatable.

UGA, if we can contain chubbs it is game over. But he is the type of player that if you let him get going he can easily put the game on his back and win it for his team.

Bama, they are vulnerable to tempo and speed which we have. And our defense can very well shut them down if they play lights out.

I'll go on record now sayin we win the east, JMO and I know the posters on here who will have some snide remark about it already, luckily I have them all on ignore.

No one in the SEC has as many coming back as we do..and we having some amazing EE's that will have the time with our program to help us out.

We will be the talk of the nation which will give the coaches enough juice to bring in another top 3 class next year and put us into the playoffs in 2016.

It is good to be a Tennessee VOL!!!!

I predict we will have a tougher time beating Arky than UGA.

I wonder how many Tennessee players will make first team all sec in 2015? I think Cameron Sutton,Curt Maggitt and Derek Barnett will be.

The must win for ME next season is Arkansas. I live outside of Little Rock in the middle of obnoxious Hog fans and they've already started the smack talking. My husband is one of them LOL...and he refuses to give our team any respect. I heard NO END to the crap in 2011 so I really just want to wipe the floor with them so they avoid me after the game. Husband wants to make the trip together to Neyland, but I'm afraid of the massive fight that might occur afterwards :p

Lol. Right. I'm excited too, but this is a little extreme.

I see several "possible losses" ......Oklahoma, Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, Alabama, Mizzouri and SCar. Certainly don't think we'll lose all of em....I can't see us possibly going 3-4 or 4-3 vs those 7....but all 7 of those are "possible losses" IMHO.

I think the point that fans need to understand is that now that there is equity in talent between us and other top teams (Bama, OU, UGA, Florida, Mizzou, USCe) doesn't mean we will win those games. It means we have a much better or even chance to win given good/great coaching, game breaks, and officiating.

Also, we still don't have the depth and experience as these other top teams....yet.

The depth and experience thing is being overblown, especially experience. We have more of our two deep returning than any other team in the conference. Sit back and actually look at who we have coming back. This team can make a serious run at the East THIS YEAR if CBJ is the coach we think he is.

No doubt we have a chance to make a run at the East. Dare I speak it, but what happens if Dobbs goes down? We have maybe Peterman (great guy, so-so QB) and 3 true freshman with no game experience let alone SEC experience.

I think I get what you are saying. There are other "possible" losses but you think UT should have the advantage.

There's only one game right now that I don't like UT's chances in- Bama. Taken as individual games between individual teams without considering injuries or other things... I think the other 11 are very winnable. For the last couple of years, I think there were 8 "winnable" games or so on the schedule. For the reasons you mention and more, I think that's up to 11.

I think UT will win at least 8 of them.

IMHO, it ultimately comes down to answering the questions at LT. Unless the Vols get hammered by injuries, the other pieces appear to be in place.
