If The Big Orange go perfect in September, the SEC East is all ours. Why you ask?

Well, might as well call NC State the first game in September, it's only one day away from being there. I look at it as a long September stretch with only three tough games out of 5. I don't see one problem handling NC State and honestly not a problem with Florida after losing some big names and trying to rebuild, I think Florida is in turmoil a little bit and it's gonna take them a while. Everyone seems to be on this Georgia train for only God Knows Why. They lost some guys, some more guys have gotten into trouble, and honestly, I see a dark horizon in Athens. They won't come close. I am not saying we are guaranteed to win these three top games but we should without a doubt.

We return the most starters in the whole SEC, and we are experienced. My prediction nonetheless... We roll through September which puts a lock on the East. Not afraid of the rest of the schedule at all except for Bama which I believe could be a pretty tight contest.

THOUGHTS???

AND GO BIG ORANGE

**** it, ill be optimistic

Ok, but you're just going to be disappointed when we head into Starkville at 3-2. The silver lining for Dooley: with the UGA game being moved up a week into September, the worst he can now do in October is 0-3. No more of this 0-4 nonsense. Now that's what I call progress.

*Edit: Nevermind, he did actually win one on 10/1 last season against Buffalo. That's a much more respectable 1-8 in October.

UGA in Athens is going to be tough, but I agree it is a very winnable game. I will never be impressed with Aaron Murrary or the UGA offense, but I think their defense is legit.

If everyone stays healthy and we get past UGA we should be undefeated when Alabama rolls in to town.

I would agree with the optimism for the following reasons:

NC State - I think we will come out with an explosive offense and a much more physical, attacking defense under Sunseri

Florida - I think the offense feels they could have put up some points on Florida last year before losing Hunter. I think they will come out with a chip on their shoulder and attack Florida's defense.
The speedy weapons that hurt our D last year are gone.
I also think it's huge that Florida has to go on the road and play at Texas A & M the week before they play us.
They usually sit at home and coast through 2 horrible non conference opponents and show very little of what they plan to do on offense.
With a new OC, seeing them play against A & M should help us get a feel for what they will be doing offensively.

Georgia - I see Bray having a bigger day throwing throwing to Hunter, Rogers, Patterson, and Rivera than Murray will to his wideouts.
Our defense should be pretty settled in to the new schemes by this point and if we come into this having beaten Florida and NC State our confidence level should be extremely high.
Will be a tough close game and could go either way.

Miss St - Great timing to have a bye week before this one.
I don't see this game being a problem for us. Can't see their defense coming close to slowing us down and they have no weapons on offense.

Alabama - Last year we were a young, inexperience team with Bray on the sidelines and went in 7-7 at halftime on their field.
This year, at home with tons of experience and weapons on offense with a more phyical, aggressive defense and this game should be a close one.
Will be interesting to see our high powered, explosive offense against their defense. We have to score TD's when we get close and not let our kicking game beat us.
On defense, I see us stacking the line and bringing a safety routinely to focus on stuffing their run and making them try to beat us with their passing game - which I don't think they can do.
I also see Sunseri dialing up a lot of blitzes to try to put pressure on them from a lot of different angles.
Tough game and Alabama will be our toughest game but if we come into this game healthy we have a shot.

South Carolina - I don't get everyone being so high on South Carolina. They've made their name the last couple of years when TN and Florida have been down. They are a good team but no way should they ever be looked at as a lock to beat us.
Best thing about this year's game - South Carolina's schedule leading up to our game with them is: Georgia, at LSU, at Florida, then Tennessee.
They also will not have had a bye week. We will be their 9th game with no bye week and they have a brutal 3 game stretch before they play us.
I don't see them slowing our offense down and I doubt Lattimore will be the same back 1st year after a torn ACL.
Same could be said for Hunter but I think it's harder for a running back to carry the ball coming off an ACL injury than it is for a WR to run in open space without all the contact.

Missouri - tough game not to be overlooked. Like the fact they play at Florida the week before they play us while we are at home warming up on Troy and resting some of our starters. I see us winning comfortably in this one.

Vandy - I see us making an example out of Vandy. They will finally play TN when we are a full, deep, talented, experienced team and it won't be pretty for them.

Kentucky - May be the worst smackdown of any team in the county. The new streak starts with a 50 point blowout.

Not saying we will win every game but I think each game on our schedule is winnable if we stay healthy.
Our kicking game worries me as there are always 1 or 2 close games that come down to that.
I see Bama and Georgia as or absolute toughest games and I feel we have a chance to battle and compete with them for 4 quarters and it's been a while since that was the case.

Go Vols!

I can't believe we lost to Kentucky. Inexcusable, imo....

I didn't bring up the UK loss. What's so unreasonable about thinking we'll go into the Miss. St. game at 3-2? That will mean we did exactly what Dooley has always done, with the UK game as the lone exception, which is beat the teams that we are better than, and lose to the ones who are more talented. The rest of it was really just a joke. I'm fully aware that we were significantly overmatched in all those October games. Geez, don't take everything quite so seriously.
