California Lunacy Thread

I would be completely against deploying troops against citizens unless they were attempting to overthrow duly elected government......... I'm fine with them defending federal property in a purely defensive capacity.

Oh I definitely agree but there is Constitutional precedence for deploying troops on USA soil. That doesn't necessarily mean it is a good idea, though.

The funny thing about this is that Californians were never really happy about being a part of Mexico. The elites didn't really want to leave Spain and didn't respect Mexican government. This is why they basically helped USA during Mexican-American War and was our grounds for annexing California.

Yea, I wouldn't know anything about it

FTR, It's just US Army...or so I've heard

Yeah, I should have also said US Military to capture Marine Corp and others. I don't recall a situation where the Marines were deployed other than this and maybe in 2020 but there were situations in late 1700s and 1800s where US Army was deployed to stop perceived threats.

Now that I think about it, it is more common than you would think sadly. Kent State shooting over Vietnam and use of NG and Army was common in Civil Rights situation. I think in the turn of the century, US Army was used to break up labor union protests/riots.

I just don't think it feels right though... kind of like how hog88 keeps pointing out.

They were also used during hurricane Katrina

I will say this, since pressure was put on Newsome and Bass and law and order was enforced this entire thing started to deescalate.

I'm not saying Trump was right to send NG but The point was made. Now Trump has stuck his nose in it and is taking shots that seem to land with many. We'll see if it actually keeps up. Newsome and Trump are very much alike in all the wrong ways.

Ilhan Omar’s Daughter Applauds Anti-ICE Riots, Urges ‘Death’ to ‘Colonial Empire’: U.S. and Israel ‘One Oppressor’

“From L.A. to Rafah, there is one common oppressor — Death to the colonial empire,” warned Isra Hirsi, daughter of Minnesota “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar, in a viral Instagram post praising anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles while linking U.S. immigration enforcement with the Gaza conflict, and casting both the U.S. and Israel as colonial powers to be violently dismantled.

As radical protesters clashed with police and ICE agents in downtown L.A., far-left activist Isra Hirsi publicly endorsed the unrest and connected it to the war in Gaza, stating: “From L.A. to Rafah, there is one common oppressor. Death to the colonial empire. Life for our children.”

Did you expect anything less coming from a vulgar slimy commie marxist worm?

They were used to clear WW1 vets who were camping on the national mall for their bonuses.
