When Federal ICE agents are being attacked and the Governor does nothing, yes the President must act. Sorry, a Governor doesnt get to let his savages loose on Federal agents because he disagrees with immigration policy.

Yeah

CA should be handling it without FED assistance BUT that state doesn't have a good track record of handling disasters or riots. GOV Newsom should be the person held accountable if this continues to go south or praised if fixed.

Send in more federal law enforcement, goodness knows that we have a plethora of the useless individuals but keep the military/NG at home.

I guess the question hanging in the air is where does local policing (keeping the locals in check) intersect with Federal jurisdiction (immigration enforcement). If what's causing all the ruckus falls under Fed enforcement then the argument can certainly be made they have a skin in the game.

It's a mess regardless.

Hog is trying to have his "States rights" cake and eat it to which leads to him making ridiculous arguments.

I am a big States rights guy too, but at some point a State forfeits their rights and California is putting themselves in that position now. The Feds have a right to enforce immigration law unimpeded.

We have US citizens and non-citizens attacking federal officers, preventing them from performing federal duties, and attacking federal buildings. It seems to be a federal jurisdiction.

Yeah, nothing really to talk about. Ukraine/Russia, Israel/Hamas, Trump, Dems...all the big topics were just more of the same. Although the Trump/Musk feud and the black eye was entertaining.

Looks like this issue may be more of the same too. Just reliving the Floyd riots while the President tweets law and order but does little to actually do it.

Just say you are ok with California impeding Federal immigration authority and attacking law enforcement and be done with it.

Exactly which additional federal law enforcement would you send? FBI? Federal Marshals? Is any federal law enforcement agency adequately staffed and equipped to deal with large scale civic unrest?
