Already over the initial shock. Welcome aboard.

Not much else I can do except support him now....

I'm most concerned about keeping Chaney on staff at this point.

Without some really great recruiters, this thing is dead before it starts. Without the talent, he would get eaten alive in the SEC.

Care to explain? Our D was better under Chavis and a 5-7 football than it was under Monte. If you think Chavis is a bad D coach then you obviously don't live in this place we call reality. ..

Thank you. Monte was a hell of a D coordinator, but on paper we where better with Chavis.

Do you think Calhoun would also call plays like Kiffin and some of the other big name coaches?

I agree with what others have said. Calhoun certainly was not a "sexy" hire but he's our coach now and I'm behind him.

A lot WILL ride on who he brings in. I agree that we should make a play for Garner HARD! He would recruit the hell out of Georgia.

I'll be upset if he doesn't atleast keep Kippy/Thompson. I would hope he seriously looks at Cregg and Chaney as well. Don't really care what he decides with Reaves and whoever else is left.
I really want to see Thompson at DC. You could see this guy hanging on Monte like a shadow all year, and Monte was the one who made the decision/hire. Thompson will be every bit the DC that Muschamp is.

Either Chaney or Kippy as OC...but the thing is, whoever the new coach is, will likely want to bring their own staff in...and I have to wonder if that was not the dealbreaker with Muschamp.

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want Hamilton to put the full court press on Kyle Whittingham...I'd even go so far as to jack up the offer to $4mill. We don't need to simply make a decent offer (with our new SEC TV contracts, there is no reason to try to come off cheaply). We need to make the dollar figure just too damn tempting to turn down.

Calhoun did alot with a little. I think he is a good hire unfortunately. Not sure how dynamic a personality he is for recruiting but he is certainly going to be a good coach with integrity.
