It is quite obvious that Calhoun has to bring in a pretty great staff so as to not lose the entire recruiting class.

I think he must keep Kippy, Thompson, and Cregg.

He has to find a legit OC who runs an innovative Pro-Style offense.

I have no idea what he prefers for defense...

Thoughts out there?

i agree with you on who to keep. he could keep cheney (Sp?) and with his (calhoun's), kippy's and cheney's pro-offense exp, we could field a very good O. DC has me scratching my head....

I'll be upset if he doesn't atleast keep Kippy/Thompson. I would hope he seriously looks at Cregg and Chaney as well. Don't really care what he decides with Reaves and whoever else is left.

Keeping Chaney, Kippy, Thompson, and Cregg is a must IMO. Then they need to throw some $ towards Garner and some other great recruiters.

What is the obsession with Tennessee fans and the "pro-style" offense? Doesn't seem to hurt recruiting at Florida and Texas that they dont run a "pro-style" offense.

Get Garner as DL coach, Thompson LB, Deruyter D-coord, Chaney O-coord, Cregg oline, Trooper RB coach, Kippy WR, QB?

You gotta let him install his own staff, but Chaney as OC and Thompson as DC with Kippy sticking around doesnt seem like such a bad idea.

LSU's D was much-improved with Chavis this year than the previous year. I think Chavis would be a good hire, but we need recruiters!!!!!

Care to explain? Our D was better under Chavis and a 5-7 football than it was under Monte. If you think Chavis is a bad D coach then you obviously don't live in this place we call reality. ..

59-20? 59? Really?
41-17 with like 365 passing yards for John Parker Wilson works too...

ESPN article said they were also looking at Kevin Steele. Any chance we are trying to get him as D Coordinator to go with this hire, if it is indeed true?

Florida and Texas can afford to do that because they can pick whoever they want in state, and there's a good chance that they will have grown up wanting to play for either team. Tennessee HS football needs to take off before we can start thinking about having that same culture.
